if brown was able to salvage mikal, great, take that win and flip kat to a team that'll need a big name tank commander. these guys are dispirited bc they can't stop other teams from scoring lol i'm willing to sacrifice a little raw talent for a dog at this point bc we know for a fact jb can go to work if he's got that surrounding him

Oh **** that was right  and Suggs got JB later on

Was it YOU on KFTV after the game that said this team's vibes reminded you of the vibes of post-Riley, Don Nelson team? I think it's spot on !!!

December 7th the Knicks will face the Magic in MSG at noon

Knicks will get their revenge then. There has to be too much pride to lose to them 3 times

When we decided to make Brunson Captain and the cornerstone of the team we basically had no choice but to build the team entirely to cover his weaknesses and compliment him. We needed to go all in on length, defense, athleticism but instead we went in the opposite direction.

Brunson is just too small to have as your franchise player if you don’t have the roster to compensate. I’m not even talking these regular season games I’m talking playoffs when it matters. 7 game series we see how frustrated he gets being hunted on D while on the other end he’s getting tackled by bigger longer defenders

Idk man we’re in a better spot than we were when we had thibs but we still need to make some moves to really pull ahead of teams like Houston, Denver, and OKC

With giannis on that team they look decent

no they won't trade him for KAT. Because KAT sucks and is the reason why we are so bad. haven't you heard?

Kat is the problem.

for having our best season in 25 years and not tanking?

bucks probably won't look to retain their win count when they trade giannis. it's essentially a rebuild at that point, so it's okay for them to take on a contract like KAT's to keep ticket sales decent and ensure their draft picks are high

I think we’ll win 15 out of our next 20 and maybe 9 out of our next 10 games. You can lose games here or there, it’s no big deal.

Some other teams like the Nets just do a single game thread for the season, maybe we will start that up.

people hate on the plus minus stat but examples like this are fun.

dude was plus 1 in 38 minutes. that means the knicks were -13 in 10 minutes when he sat. crazy stuff.

i don't remember but assume he was on the bench to start the 4th when the magic went on the run that won them the game.

I was thinking this the other day, and people might disagree or think it's a bad take - but Brunson truly was/is a gift and a curse to the franchise. It's not his fault, but him "overachieving" and turning into an elite player really pushed the team into "win now" mode. Maybe they still make similar "all in" moves regardless, but it all felt very rushed cashing in all the assets for bridges and then Kat. I'm well aware of the circumstances of the cap/aprons and losing Ihart etc - but you have to wonder if a more patient approach would have been any worse, and the team would still have it's assets at least. they made the deal because no other big deal felt like it was going to become available - then of course giannis is right there for the taking a year later, but we have no assets left.

the disheartening thing about the future is the knicks have no good young prospects nor picks. where as teams like Houston are loaded with young players and still have tons of future assets. Detroit is another example.

we went "all in" to supposedly be a finals team - and maybe they can still manage to get there. so then it becomes a debate of was it worth it? if the knicks get to the finals once in the next 3 years and lose - definitely won't feel worth it to me. if they manage to somehow win it all then sure it was worth cashing it all in. right now the probability I would say is not in the favor of them even getting to the finals once - which is an obvious failure.

as for your take I agree and compare it to carmelo to some extent. a lot of people always said he could never be "the guy" on a championship team, and i'm not saying it would be easy but I do think if you built the right team around him, he could be the #1 option on a championship calibur team. same goes for brunson the "small guard" - he could be the #1 on a championship team if you built the right team around him. as you said, you would have to go all in on defense, size/length around him.

You guys knocking those of us saying chill n be patient as if you were the ones saying be patient last year and we weren’t on board is great rewriting of history lol. That’s the exact opposite of what happened last season.

The same people saying to chill n be patient are the same ones that said chill n be patient last year when people were hysterical about KAT, Mikal, the bench and the kids when you guys were saying they all sucked and it was all a mistake… then we got to the ECF.

I wouldn’t even be shocked if there’s a bit of these guys kinda going thru the motions and coasting buying into their own hype knowing they’ll make the playoffs and no matter what seed we get, it’s all the same to them with the East wide open and no real threat.

I honestly don’t think I’m hitting a panic button at all this season as long as we’re healthy come playoff time.

This team is just absurdly talented and posters are conveniently disregarding that, along with the fact that Houston, Denver and even OKC have their own issues. Houston has no PG to begin with, Thompson currently boasts a 21% 3P%, Houston’s bigs are even worse defensively than ours, Denver’s Gordon and Johnson are inferior and much more frustrating players compared to Bridges and OG, Braun is no McBride either (21% 3P%, too), and most importantly, when it comes to OKC, our oh so terrible KAT will eat Holmgren alive in the playoffs. I get it, they’re good, but the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side just because Towns is not quite Giannis Antetokounmpo. I’d much rather have Towns than Murray or Holmgren, for example - 33.9 3P% btw
