I really can't believe it. Oh and we didn't add salary.
And ESPN still grades this D- for the NYK
On another side, the Magic sent Oladipo, Ilyasova and a 1st round pick, only to get Serge Ibaka

ESPN grade a D- because it's probably not a great idea to trade a starting center who is going to be on a bargain deal for the next three years for a guy that's going to be a free agent next year and can't stay on the court.
Let's run through the scenarios… Rose stinks up the joint and we let him walk next year, sure we get cap space but we gave up a solid starting center on a good deal for that? Not wise. If Rose comes in and plays his ass off, then he's due for a huge contract next summer. Are we really going to give Max money or close to Max money over the span of most likely three or four years to a guy who has one year under his belt of solid basketball after three years of pure disappointment?
I am a diehard Knicks fan so I'm obviously going to support rose for as long as he's wearing the jersey, but it's really not that shocking to see people lay in to Phil for making this trade.
Well the Blazers lost RoLo in the first place and seemed to be doing fine without him.
I liked Rolo, his attitude and everything, but we can easily replace him this offseason.
Noah at the right price looks intriguing, two years ago dude was all NBA first team. But I don't want us to pay the max.
Lots of decent centers available in the market place... other than Noah, Whiteside, Howard of course, but also there's Biyombo, Ezeli, Pachulia, Mahinmi, Speights, Mozgov, Nene, Plume, Hibbert... etc
However, very few PGs available this year, Conley was the only top piece, he'll likely remain in Memphis, and if you're going to take a chance on the likes of Rondo or D-Will, I prefer to grab D-Rose any day of the week.
We can also play KP at C some minutes, he has the size and IQ to do so.
A lineup of D-Rose, Gallo, Lance, Melo & KP looks promising to me. Let alone with KD at SF, but that's off topic currently. At least, the trade puts us in a position to get a meeting. Melo on his own wouldn't.
