So you dont think its possible that our team can be maybe, just maybe be 2-3 games better then Milwaulkee and Charlotte was last season?

Tell me how that equals a 50 win team.

The Bucks are built on defense. They don't have the best talent but they have a great coach. Same with Charlotte.

The Knicks are built on an offensive system by a coach who doesn't stress defense. Our success next year depends heavily on Amare's health, Anthony Randolph's progress as a player in the NBA (and it will have to be big progress, Gallinari's progress as a player and Raymond Felton's improvement from his days in Charlotte.

I'm sorry, but Randolph is an idiot

The good news is that it doesn't matter if you are an idiot or not in the NBA. It just matters if you can play basketball.

Best case scenario 82 wins..... worst case scenario 0 wins..... most likely scenario 41 wins.

one thing I will say is that our wins these past two season reflected the play of the PG, when Duhon had his streak of good games for the knicks the first half of his first season, we were in the playoff race with him and Lee being our only hope for victory, now 50 wins is way to optimistic but if we got 50 wins dont be surprised in the least bit

Im realistically expecting about 46-48 wins(me saying 50 win team draws more readers, im not going to say we are going to be a 45-50 win team, heres why! ), but im more optimisitc then most of this board. Mainly because most of this board always has the same opinion on everything. Everyone hates and likes the same players, everyone thinks we will be a .500 team, everyone hated Gallo, now everyone loves Gallo.

Chandler was untouchable, now he needs to be traded.

The Knicks have the potential because they now have a player who can do things like this every night, all night:

Our record may not reflect a 50 win season but if everything falls in place and we gel as a team with good chemistry by the end of the season we can do some damage in the playoffs. The following season we should be a 50 win team and going deep in the playoffs.

I say Knicks win 53 games and get the 5th seed. They are good enough. Not sure why they will not.

Only issue is players need to know there roles in crunch time. You need to Know is Gallo the #1 option in the clutch, then what about AMare, does Felton make the decisions? THat is important in the clutch. Who is your go to guy.

We should have the ingredients to capture a playoff seed.

The key to having a good first month of the season is Felton playing well from the get go. If he does, everybody can just focus on their roles.

And I think the big wildcard now is if this Moz guy is a real talent. Even 15 minutes a game from a guy like this alters our prospects. It could be worth an extra 5 victories if this guy is that big and athletic and can alter shots without being overly foul prone.

Having a defensive force in the paint, even for short stretches, is an X factor that tides over the team when the offense is not clicking and no one player has the hot hand. Then you can at least concentrate on shutting down the other team. We haven't had that in a long time and having size like that can be a difference maker for us.

Yea If I had to make a range it'd be like this also. Anything above that is a pleasant surprise I wouldn't mind to have.

I love Lee, but Amare is on a different level...he's a go to player who steps up in crunch time and can win you games. That alone will lead to more victories. Add to that the fact we have a well rounded roster, bigs that can defend the interior, guards who can defend, shooters and a true point guard, we should be a playoff team. I think it's a bit premature to start labeling this a 50 win team. We have a good mix of young players, one being an elite big man, we can make some noise, though I wouldn't be surprised if we have a totally different look come winter time. I do believe DW wanted the players he traded for (Turiaf, Randolph, Bukie) and signed (Felton, Mozgov), but they also happen to be excellent trading pieces...we shall see.

Why does everyone think Randolph is so good? Serious question. I got BURNED by him in fantasy last year. I know Nelson would mess with his PT, but when he would get PT there just wasn't much production.

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/anthony_r ... stats.html

Nelson played around with his minutes and his mind. He only played 22 MPG so obviously his total stats werent that great (11.6pts/6.5rbs/1.6blks) but his PER was terrific. He only played over 30 minutes a handful of times.

If Randolph gets 30+ mpg this season I see no reason he cant average at least 15pts/10rbs/3blks

I think the 3 biggest improvements are Amare, Felton and another year's growth for Gallo.

I don't know how much AR will actually help the team win, but I think Amare will make a big difference, Felton will make a big difference and Gallo could be our secret weapon.

This team could use a true SG, but I think 40-45 wins is more where they'll be.

I'm predicting a 41 win season. I think most people would and SHOULD be thrilled with a .500 season. It's been almost 10 years since we've been mediocre.. and obviously we don't want to stay there but you have to take baby steps. We can't go from being a 30 win team to a 60 win team overnight (well maybe if we got Lebron we could but....) Give it some time.
