Way ahead of myself but we can afford to give up Wilson Chandler for a pick seeing we wont sign him to a big contract after this year plus We have Fields

as a team they should wait for the summer... as a business do what would bring in revenue.

i thought this would had died already with melo saying i'm leaving my options open.

didnt want to the knicks to gut the team. maybe they won't

this is worst than the wait for lebronette decision

I doubt it. If the Knicks had the Pacers' unprotected pick, the deal would be done. I think Denver would take Randolph straight up too if Gallo comes with him.

Why would we give up both Chandler AND Toney Douglas for a first round pick?

The team being in Italy means nothing in regard to the trade. Donnie would make the deal and send whoever back to America early. Lets be serious people.

Ar4 and Gallo cant be traded for this pick, because Denvers pick of the 2 will be included in the trade Donnie will not give up both.

He's a classy guy...no way in hell would he do that. Not to mention that he said he would not do that. No way it's Gallo or AR though...

Depends on the pick. If it's Minny/Cleveland/Kings/Raptors, I'd pull the trigger.

Guys keep reminding yourself that Donnie said he is not blowing up the team. Offering Chandler and Douglas for a pick then giving up Gallo too is blowing up the team.

My guess is that it's a low pick being traded for Walker or Douglas and $3 million cash + one of our second rounders from GSW. Something like that, I don't expect the pick to be for any of Gallo, AR or Chandler and I bet that 2 out of those 3 guys will still be Knicks after the Melo trade, if it happens.

I believe this rumor has legs though. Knick rumors usually have legs. Unlike other teams the media doesn't usually make stuff up on our behalf...

I wonder if it's a three team trade...because if it's not, that means that AR or Gallo would be shipped out to Denver. Both of whom have been assured that they would not be traded by Walsh. It's gotta be a three team trade with Denver that would send Melo to NY...OR Chandler would not be involved in the trade for the first round pick. Just spit-balling here...

If it's for any player that is remotely going to be useful for this year, the deal will not happen in anything other than a 3 or 4 team deal including Denver. The Knicks wouldn't trade Chandler for a 1st rounder, hoping to pawn it to Denver for Melo. It would be part of a larger deal, so the Knicks don't get left with a future 1st rounder instead of a valuable piece for this year. If the deal is for picks, cash, or some scrub, then I think it's possible the Knicks would do it sometime soon. -Jitpal

This.. I doubt Donnie will take a "2 step backward-1 step forward" approach.

as i've repeatedly said, you guys are nuts if you think that we're making this trade without losing gallo or ar. and trading chandler for a first round pick is a good deal even if we don't trade for melo.

Look at Miami, everyone has them penciled in to win 70 games and 5 titles in a row with 3 players and one solid player in Mike Miller. If we get Melo and Amare, we got 2 players there and still should have a real solid bench...I think we can compete with these two. If we can keep one of Randolph/Gallo, well then wow..

Amar'e/Melo are close enough to Bosh/Wade but how the hell do you get someone to match LeBron? That player doesn't exist. We would be second place forever. We have to take some chances here.

Speaking for myself I'm totally prepared to lose either Gallo or Randolph for Melo, but not both. I have pychologically prepared myself for that. Of course I would prefer we give up none of them and get Melo as an FA but the chances of that happening are pretty slim...
