Yeah, Hamilton's minutes have been dwindling all year, but he hasn't been held out of games...it hasn't gone that far, it's Hamilton sitting with little reason is a good indicator there has been significant progress between New Jersey and Denver management...this all means very little because at the end of the day, if Jersey does not get Anthony to commit long-term, nothing will go down. I simply cannot imagine NJ giving away assets in such a gamble that they could eventually persuade Anthony to sign an extension...but I do think that Detroit/Jersey/Denver have hammered out a deal that should be close to being finalized...if you don't believe that, you're simply in denial. Whether Anthony agrees to anything is a whole different story.

yeah my main point was that hamilton playing or not isnt a good indicator of where the nets deal is as there are much more important pieces still playing. him sitting just shows that if the melo deal falls through, hamilton will quickly be shipped out in plan b for det.

Hamilton being benched really has nothing to do with the trade entirely. Kuster is just an idiot. We know RIP and Kuster had issues, it would be the samething Stuckey got.

I think it is fairly obvious at this point that Melo will be a Knick at some point and that people are reading way too far into it to try and make a story out of it so they will be entertained. Its pretty obvious IMO

Once again, in the article on wiretap(Title More important Than Money), Melo has expressed that going to a winning team and getting a ring is more important than making money. So let's say the trade goes down, there is no way Melo would be on his way to getting a ring with what the Nets will be stuck with.

After the trade the Nets will have Melo, (overrated) Brook Lopez, who is spposed to be a star in the making, but at 7' only gets 5.5 Rebs. per game, over the hill and quickly declining rip Hamilton, who will have an awful contract(3yrs and something like $42 mill. including this year), Chauncey Billups, who not only has quickly diminishing skils, but because he really doesn't want to play for NJ his head won't be in the games they play, and with them giving away all of their first rd. picks, they won't be able to replenish their team with good talent.

I don't care what you say there is no way Melo will be able to win the Division, let alone a title with that band of misfits. However with Stat, and Ray, that's a different story.

So if Melo agrees to be traded to the Nets and then signs an extension with them, then it WILL be about money, and he will be a bold face liar!!

CoolKids wrote:i dont care either way to be honest. If we get him well be much better and if the nets get him we will still be better then them. A team of cillupshamilton melo humphries lopez and outlaw isnt going to win many games and when billups and hamilton are done in 2 or 3 years thats not even a playoff team.

we share the same perspective...if we get melo we'll still be able to compete for a chip next yr and if not we'll still be able to bc of our cap space and we wont gut our team to get him

I spoke with a public speaking guru who has drafted this for Melo to recite to the Denver FO after tonights game against Cleveland:

"Ummm, sorry Josh, i'm not signing no extension in NJ. You can trade me there, do what you gotta do dawg, but i'm not signing. Keep me here, rent me out, whatever bra, but i'm excercising my god (and players union) given right to be a FREE agent. It's called a FREE agent for a reason Josh, it means i'm FREE to play with whoever i want. I can play for the damn MLE with Kobe or LBJ if i want, but what i want is to play for the Knicks, with my boy Amar'e and tear **** up in the East. So, you can trade me there, trade me to NJ, trade me to Houston, whatever. But come July 01st, i'll be reppin NYC."

christomasson Chris Tomasson
More Karl: "I don’t want to kind of rebuild (without Anthony). "I want to reinvent our team rather than going into rebuilding.''

christomasson Chris Tomasson
Karl said Nuggets brass on board with reinvent strategy. "I think so. It's a business and sometimes basketball finishes second to business'

SO WHY THE HELL DO THEY WANT ALL THOSE DRAFT PICKS!?

At this point it looks like NJ is ready to trade for him with or without the extension. I think Denver and NJ are basically going to tell Melo to GFYS and take the deal that they want.

At this point I don't know what to believe, but my heart keeps telling me Knicks.
I'm going to the Denver game on the 31st. Hopefully he won't be playing for either team.

Exactly!!! WTF is Denver doing? It seemed like they wanted Favors, who is a young player for a rebuild (who has been completely unimpressive anyway) and a bunch of 1st round picks and cap space to rebuild...Now all of a sudden they want to reinvent themselves instead of rebuild?

WTF?

All Denver has done is prove how incompetent their new front office is and help justify Melo wanting to GTFO of there...Warkentien should be thanking them for getting him out of there

What Karl is saying is interesting, and smart on his part... he doesn't want to keep the same type of team going and sorta trudge on as is minus the superstar...he want's to totally change the system / look of the team and reinvent the Nuggets into something new in the new 'era' of being Melo-less...

How that affects us i'm not sure
