i thought barkely said it best about bg; he's going to be a real nice player when he slows down and starts to really play basketball. i think the analysts tended to only look at his stats and overlook that blake was a lot of hustle and energy last season. like, that game where he scored 44 points against us was just him scoring against single teams and getting put-backs and stuff, plus we won that game pretty easily. it's not like you can really get him the ball in crunch time and he's going to go to work against doubles or anything like that.

he obviously has a nice foundation with his handle, bball iq, passing, and touch, so once he can shoot better and adds more polish he's going to be a serious player. but it's disrespectful to the guys who already are there with their games (amare, bosh, zbo, aldridge, gasol) to act like blake is really a "winner" at this point.

It's cool. Lots of young dudes these days are paralyzed by anything resembling feelings. I was at a friend's wedding recently and made my speech and had his son there at the mic and he was petrified. He was turning to me to tell him what to say. I said just tell your dad and new mom you love them and you're happy for them and he said that's gay. He's 14. It's incredible. So I said just be sincere. He froze and said nothing. What the hell are young guys afraid of these days? If you aren't gay, you aren't. You don't have to say so. It's not like you'll get pulled over and receive a ticket for exceeding the gaydar limit.

No really, they scared now. The cliche of just bashing the Knicks have faded and we really have entered a new day in Knicks basketball. All the old jokes of bashing the Knicks don't fly anymore, the best anyone can do anymore is lol knicks. I mean really, that's the rhetoric that your going to come at us with? It's one thing to have a legitimate conversation or debate, but hell that's hard as hell to find. For example the General Board is now facing an epidemic in which it has never seen before in RealGM history, a good Knicks team.

What people really don't expect to happen is that the collective consciousness of the Knicks fan base is going to start spreading out. We have already seen a ton of new Knick fans come out over the past year, well it's only getting bigger every passing day. The days of little immature kids praising Stephon Marbury as the savior or the hyping of guys like Channing Frye are essentially dead. Now don't get me wrong, we still love our rookies as much as the next team does, but we really don't have to pin our hopes anymore.

Now only from this point out, the Knicks are going to have a legitimate team, but hell we're going to be a good team. I mean it's quite obvious, no matter how you really look at it. While it's been crappy to be the laughing stock of the league for quite some time, those days are over. The Knicks and the Garden are back and it's really going to take people some getting used to because it's been so damn long. Now from here on out what your going to be experiencing is some of these immature fans try to spew the same ole rhetoric, but don't feed into that crap. We have premature fans like every other franchise, don't feed into the nonsense. Lets stay somewhat humble because lets face it, we love proving people wrong.

So lets just enjoy this ride because the good times are finally here, most of us have waited to damn long for this day to come back. When you do go General Board posting, lets show them intelligence does reside in this forum. Now lets go get a damn snack, because we're all back in a NY state of mind.

Lets not get too ahead of ourselves. The Knicks still have a lot to prove. They got swept out of the playoffs last season (haven't won a playoff game since 2003, I think, and haven't won a playoff series since 2001), backed into the playoffs last season, and in their recent preseason game still have a lot of work on their defensive rotation, with limited practice time this upcoming season.

The hate on the general board is a lot less than it use to be, but the Knicks fans can't going on there like they have a top 5 team, when the Knicks haven't proven crap this season. When, if, they start running teams, then we'll have some type of evidence to back up the talk.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

Madison Square Garden a.k.a the worlds most famous arena will rock like never before. The chants of defense, defense, defense has returned!

This Knicks team will capture the hearts of Manhattan ala the heart of New York City.

The general board will never show the respect (or fear) they now have for our Knicks team being led by two top 5-10 NBA stars in Carmelo and Amare. Two huge offseason upgrades in a pure PG in Baron Davis along with one of the best defensive/rebounding Centers around in Tyson Chandler. Young up and coming talents in TD23, Landry Fields and Iman Shumpert. High energy guys off the bench in Jared Jeffries and Ronaldo Balkman. Along with a 3 point shooter in Bibby who goes for the kill.

NBA fans hated us when we had Harper, Starks, Charles Smith, Oakley, Ewing, Mason as our 6th man off the bench, Herb Williams etc, etc and they'll now hate us at an all-time high.

And I'll love each and every moment of it.

I'm thrilled about our offseason but to be honest I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic. We all lambasted Miami for their pre-season celebratory douchiness and laughed when they failed... I don't want to go down the same path and quite frankly, as others have said, we haven't proven anything yet. I really don't like the bravado I've been seeing from some Knicks fans on the GB. Still, I completely understand the sentiment. This is definitely the best feeling I've had heading into a season than I've ever had in over a decade.

Go Knicks!

Im sorry guys I like the Knicks I just couldnt help myself

Anyways I think this is just a bad loss and you guys just need to get a different mentality and it starts with the coaching. Plus now that Shump Shump is starting to come into his own so fast, you can push one of your awful starting guards onto the bench

It was more so the fact that actual Knick board posters were going to go over to the General Board and with the new rules that were on the way to serve as a heads up. But yeah I feel a fool to think this team could play half way decent basketball.
