lol @ whoever said stat has good hands. dude always bobbling easy passing and turning the ball over. in regards to him not taking any shots, he touched the ball plenty, he was never looking to shoot probably because he knew it would be a brick.

I did not see the 4th quarter, so my question is:

Did Melo look for Stat or look him off?

Since Stat is not an initiator, at this point it is a given he needs to be seen and given the ball in the right spot to have a part of the offense.

If Melo freezes out Stat, it will lead to bad blood.

Clyde, that is the only quarter that I did see in its (almost) entirety. What I saw was not only Melo looking him off, but the rest of the team too...the instances when he got the ball, he didn't look for a shot, but immediately passed it. It really appears that we have a $100Million Quiter on the team...the guy looks like a cancer.

Two things concerning this, maybe three:

1. I witnessed Amare quit on the Suns in the Western Conference Finals/Semi's two years ago, just before he came to NY. He quit, and it was obvious--cost them a trip to the Finals. So, I was concerned when he came here, especially for that type of money, because it almost makes him untradeable given his attitude, performance/limited skills, and character.

2. But, this is where the leader of the team, the coach is required to come in and bring Everyone into the fold, on one accord, and play as a TEAM, not a bunch of individuals (especially not disgruntled individuals). Basketball is a TEAM sport, requires a manager/leader that can make a TEAM out of the individual players he has. Dantoni has historically and is currently failing at that miserably. How can you have two star players and NOT figure out how to get them to work together maximizing their skill sets to make the TEAM successful? Yes, we've got culture issues in NY Basketball, but coaches, good ones, change team cultures. George Carl in Seattle and Denver, Pop in San Antoni, Phil Jackson in Chicago, and NOW Doug Collins in Philadelphia. WE NEED A COACH THAT CAN MAKE A TEAM OUT OF THE TALENT THAT WE HAVE. Fire Dantoni.

Added to my Amare thread.

It's about time you guys saw the light.

For the rest of you Amare defenders, I'm not giving up - there's still hope for you to convert.

Ok so when after a loss he smiles and jokes with another player he gets (and should get) flamed because it seems like he doesn't care about losing, and when he's down, sitting on the bench, being clearly affected by a loss, he gets blamed too, so you tell me, how should he behave ?
