Sorry to say but it's looking more & more likely the #Knicks will not match #JeremyLin. Hearing offer "too high/tax" & "what has he proved?"

What has he proved, He took you POS team to the playoffs Melo should be on his knees.

Stop trolling! Stop putting one man above the team. Lin inspired the players and fans to get back up when we were down! He did not single handidly carry us to the playoffs. Melo and the rest of the cats played extremely well down the stretch enough Lin is not God....... still can't believe we're gonna lose him though :(

If Dolan has a last minute change of heart and decide to match, there will be a sense of euphoria from the KNICKSNATION not seen since ...umm...... Linsanity. One can only hope.

I know it sounds crazy but it's not. There are little signs here of a team desperate to lock down Felton.

You know when you're desperately trying to get Ray Felton that it's a dark day.

Heat were right to laugh at the Knicks and they'll be able to do a lot more laughing coming up soon.

I agree, but they might be feeling the heat right about now.

From the guy who endorses Mike D'antoni's coaching prowess.

give Dantoni a break man. Time for you to let it go. He is an Olympic level offense coach

He's a horrid... horrid coach. Ask the Nuggets.

He did almost single-handedly turn the season around for us. You could say him, Novak, and Chandler. But mostly Lin.

That's what Melo said about his dinner with Lin and Chandler---Lin was looking for the best situation.

To me there's a big difference between getting Nash while keeping Lin, vs. getting Felton while losing Lin. I think that's relevant to your post, which claimed there was a double standard between the two situations.

To simplify...

The fact that people thought we needed Nash and could send Lin to back-up duty because he NEEDS TO DEVELOP means that any "omg this is the end...it's over" is overblown. If you went from "we need nash" to "we need Lin" THAT'S the double-standard.

Yes, Nash is better than Lin and gave us a contender type position...Lin wasn't the difference between being a contender or not. I'm sorry...you can't make that decision in 25 games. Lin MIGHT develop into one, but it's a 40 million dollar maybe. To decry the organization for that 40 million dollar maybe seems reaching to me...to claim that it is a plane on the verge of crashing is absolutely ridiculous. THAT'S what I was addressing, the overdramatic nature of people over this move.

They apparently told Lin to set his market.

Nothing wrong with him doing that.

Now they just have to make the decision.

Just let it keep going. He's stealing the show in this thread. I can't stop laughing.

What can I do to stop it? :D

I just think someone going from 'we're having a really good off season' to 'everybody on this team sucks' smells a little funny.

I'm starting to look at it as performance art, or 'driving the revenue stream.' :P

Shumpert anyone?

Lin was better than Shumpert by a long shot last year. Shumpert was good, Lin was an impact player.

Shumpert has a long, long way to go before he can contribute to a winning team on the offensive end in the NBA. I love his defense, intensity, and swagger--but he's a Tony Allen, a role player.

I don't want to trash the kid, but to suggest that he showed anything remotely close to what Lin showed, would be, well, stupid. I'd honestly be surprised if he ever does.
