Amar'e has always gotten alot of criticism, not all of it justified, as a rebounder but I think it's interesting that the other Amar'e thread's link to an article points to how the team as a whole has improved rebounding. This was considered one of the team's biggest weaknesses, now replaced by defending guards, but looks to have become more of a strength now.

Tyson's 40 rebounds in two nights have helped that cause, too.

I look at why Tyson is getting more boards as a systems question.

You can use Amar'e to cover a bigger/better post player and then use better defenders in Ray and Shump on the guards. Tyson is then only concerned with his own man, switching, and getting in position for the rebound instead of worrying about mismatches as well. Team boxes out. More rebounds for Tyson.

Suns did the same thing but with Marion cleaning the glass and with Amar'e getting out on the break. What you look for is the best lineup/matchups to complete the defensive possession.
BAF Clippers: Great Team. No Future.
PG: SGA | Coleworld
SG: Big Ragu | Podz
SF: Kuminga | Thybulle
PF: KAT | K. Williams
C: BroLo | D. Sharpe

Deep Bench - Merrill | Craig | Reath | Saric | Lowry

I think this just serves to illustrate what's been lost - and not even on a conscious level - when we equate not complaining about constants that we can't change as "then there's NOTHING to talk about".

IMO there is plenty to talk about in the sports arena other than simply lamenting constants.

Yes.... because 40 rebounds in 2 games makes the Knicks #1 in defensive rebounding % for the season....

Ignore the defensive rebounding%...Barkley says we can't rebound
What do I care...it's rigged anyway

Just as a meta follow-up, it's outright comical how the board has gone relatively silent as the Knicks are sporting a 31-15 record and have won 8 of 10.

Some people have NOTHING to say unless it's a complaint or an expressed anxiety.

Ponder that for a moment...

Yeah when you are happy with how the team is playing you have less to talk about, never understood what is so complicated about this process. Also 8/10 is great but after that stretch of terribad basketball playing the scrubs we have we had better have done what we did.
