The 2 guys that absolutely kill the Knicks are not on the Celtics this year for the playoffs.
That's Ray Allen and Rondo.

Without those 2, the Knicks will easily beat the Celtics 4-1 or a soft 4-2.

They will do everything in their power to win all their remaining games and catch Atlanta and move up to 6th.

Or it signals him trying to get off some of the rust before the playoffs. We saw how bad Tyson's timing was in his first game back.

Screw being tested, that's overrated. We can wait to be "tested" against the Heat in the ECF or the NBA Finals. A tougher 1st round matchup than the other matchups would hurt us more than help us. We're not a young team. An old team is much more susceptible to wear and tear.

Against the Hawks, it may be a 4 game sweep. Against the Celtics, that's asking for a likely 7 game series. The less games we have to play to get to the ECF, the less likely one of our top guys gets injured.

I mean, can we beat the Celtics in the 1st round? Sure, but I much rather face a team that is not the Bulls or Celtics in the 1st round.

I am concerned with only ONE thing: Injuries. Boston plays physical (and dirty). Knicks must make short work of this franchise. If it drags to 6 games, I get worried.

Apart from injuries, I have no concerns.

In a more serious note, Atlanta at this point is better than the Celtics in almost every aspect of the game so I don't get the fascination.

That's my feeling. I'd be more concerned about dirty play than actual match-up. If the Knicks are a true contender, that Boston squad shouldn't be a threat.

Will the refs let the Celtics get away with the cheapshots (they...and especially KG...are the masters of the cheap shot)? If so, then yes...somewhat. If not, then no. But to be honest, I think this team, unlike teams of the past, are not going to be phased by those tactics. But yes the only shot the Celtics have is if the refs look the other way and someone key on the Knicks get injured.

I'm not really that concerned. Of course you gotta respect them and bring your A game but Rondo isn't playing and Pierce and Garnett simply aren't the players they used to be. If STAT plays I have the Knicks in 5...if we are without STAT I have the Knicks in 6.

I like the analogy but I was thinking more of Achilles dragging Hector's body behind his chariot in front of the walls of Troy.

Whomever we play that first round is getting swept.

And I don't see the Celtics overtaking the Hawks, if they do then they're scared to play us.

It's only right that we face our long time nemesis in order to advance in the 2nd Rd.

Personally I've been waiting for this. It's time to exercise those demons babee

They won't be an easy out, we should expect every call to go against us and it will be a dirty fight.

But it'll be worth it to beat them. Would be nice to get that monkey off our back, it'll boost our confidence and will get us ready for the next round. We need to get through a playoff battle and Boston would certainly give us a battle.
