Another theory, Knicks fans didn't want him back at full max and the thought was he would be looked at selfish. So to counter that, he wanted to make us panic thinking he was going to leave.

Now he will take full max and we'll all be relieved and be ok with it because he re-signed and didn't bail.

This is a microcosm of being a Knick fan. It's all just a waste of time.

If his heart is really in NY this should have been over by now.

Right. Really, he would have took his 23 million and gave Phil a year. He opted out to leave.

Chances are the Knicks didn't offer a max either. They just told melo we will match and exceed any contract offer by a certain amount. Now melo is trying leverage a little more out the deal. That simple.

So a 2 mill/year discount ... not much... as long as he takes the big cut in year 2 so we have maximum 2015 funds Im ok with whatever the number is...

Can you confirm or deny the reports coming out of Steptoe Johnson?

For the first time feel like this guy is leaving. Word would of dropped. There is no real details to figure out or anything. How can he possibly not know by now. How much debating you think goes on. If I were in a similar position i would of been prepared heard what each teams plan is and make a decision. Feels like the linger it goes he worse it gets for us.

Right now Leon Rose and Carmelo lost leverage in negotiations due to the bulls low balling melo. They were the only clear threat. Now with that said the lakers offered a max contract. So now Leon is using that Max offer to now gain an increase in the contract the Knicks offered. Knicks are most likely offering between 100-110 mill and melo and Leon want 110-120 mill. That's all this is guys. Use the lakers to drive up the price. Negotiation 101. Your welcome.

wasn't it already comfirmed Knicks offered the max?

Yes

Haven't we learned anything from 2010. Unless you hear it from the horses mouth this is all speculation. None of this is fact only assumptions based on "sources"

Our board's "inside sources" ( ) are saying the Jazz could get involved.
