Josh Jackson has been promised - has worked out for Lakers in LA. Has not worked out for Phoenix yet. It could be Philly but likely Lakers.

If the Lakers pass on Ball, wow...that would be the slap heard from around the world even though Philly would be a good spot for him with the weapons of Okafor, Embiid, and Simmons.

this draft could get really crazy. Would the lakers really pass on Lonzo? If they do how far does he drop because no one worked him out outside the lakers. His father might f*ck him royally.

I've heard a lot of people say Ball would fit in Philly, but I just can't see Simmons as anything other than a point who needs the ball in his hands. With Ball, obviously he is the floor general, so what does Simmons do? He is a horrific shooter and he needs the ball in his hands. Would be very interesting to see the Lakers pass on Ball. I could see him dropping to 5 if that happens. Still doesn't really change our options even if that does happen. Lavar would be pissed. You would have to give Magic and his staff credit for not taking Ball simply because it is what's expected.

Sounds like he partially f*cked himself by having a poor workout/being out of shape/declining workouts. I try not to wish bad things upon people, and realistically, dropping a couple spots in the NBA draft where you're going to be rich anyway isn't a "bad" thing, but I would not be upset if he dropped with all that BS surrounding him.

Ball can easily play off ball on offense if Simmons is initiating the offense. I also don't see Simmons as a point guard, so I think the fit is there regardless - he's like Lamar or Blake (with a better handle and without the absolute freakish/elite athleticism)

i guess but thats not good for us unless you think Phil would pull the trigger on Lonzo. Just means another player will be going from the group of players we want.

Its a combination though. If Lavar is telling Lonzo the lakers are a sure bet he might have coasted thinking why go all out...I don't know. But the kid is getting terrible advice from his father.

If they draft Ball who might end up playing off the ball with Simmons initiating the offense, why not just take Monk? You take Ball to be your floor leader and facilitator. I just don't like the pairing. I also think Simmons can definitely play PG.

I could see Ball & Simmons playing just fine together... like the way Steph & Dray share the rock & run the offense.

Right but the dynamic and skill set between Draymond and Steph is much different than Simmons and Ball, or so I am assuming. I just think you take Ball to be your 100% unquestioned PG, not a guy who sometimes brings the ball up.

I totally agree taking portlands 15th pick helps us a better SF to replace Melo (plus our new PG @ 8). :D Definitely worth it for the Knicks.

Plus tonight the since the Cavs got every bounce in game 4, they will lose tonight in getting dominated by GS (getting to stir up lots of trade value for Melo). :D

Very true. Its the arrogance of potentially not going all out that bothers me so much. He's just as unproven as guys who may be on an opening day roster who go undrafted. You haven't done sh*t yet, kid. Sit down, be humble.

I couldn't disagree more. The ball movement would be nuts. A pg's job doesn't begin and end with bringing the ball up court.
