I think if you want to speculate in Crypto you better be prepared to lose all your money. With that being said Crypto is at what 600 billion now? It'll easily reach 1-2 trillion within 2-3 years; because big companies and banks have yet to put their money behind cryptocurrencies.

In general I think the money will keep coming in until they can find a useful way to make money off blockchain tech like remittances or they can't and the bubble explodes.

So if you want to make some money off speculating on crypto put a fixed amount of money each week/month into the five biggest cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. Now why the biggest and most expensive? Because size gives you more speed, speed gives you more size and if any cryptocurrency will make remittances work it'll probably be one of those first and then you'll make some serious money.

Obviously you can make some good money off alt coins but even if you've done a lot of research there's a lot of scams going on and even if it's legit you'll probably lose all your money.

This is a little old but a good starting point..

That video was on the really basic stuff, but I looked at his channel and it seems like he's doing well now. Have you been following him for a while? What's his story? Why is he credible?

Yeah worked for IBM making 300G per year but was able to leave his job in October after doing well with ICOs. ICOs are his specialty ... I highly value his research skills(He give away info that others are charging for) but of course you have to do you own...

Understand the fluctuating stability of crypto-currency as you invest though. Selling is better than buying at THIS particular juncture but once again, you're not a client of mine. My clients are busy selling and heading to the bank.

I'm terrified that you have "clients" and make blanket statements/advice such as "don't buy any cryptocurrency right now".

Insults?
Have a nice day.

Sorry, but that advice is that absurd. Can you provide one reason why no one should buy anything? I can't think of any reason other than you believe the entire cryptocurrency market is going to be dead by the end of January.

I like ripple but I only put a small amount I was willing to lose. Don’t understand it much but under a dollar it was a low risk and I saw some Chinese banks were backing it so who knows.

Off topic, but since we talking money and investments what’s a good business to start up for a area like Austin, Texas? Really not trying to get into the food or restaurant business.

Raiblocks, Stellar, and Request Network are my big 3. I made good off of Ripple, but truthfully, I don't believe in the product and have sold off. My next bets are probably going to be on NEO and IGNIS. Ethereum is also a safe bet imo.

Telling someone not to invest in Crypto right now is not giving advice at all. In fact it’s a pretty weak statement. There are so many great alt coins out there that actually serv a greater purpose than BTC ever will. Just because a lot of people missed the boat on BTC doesn’t mean they shouldn’t invest, even if it’s a small amount to get their feet wet. Coins like XLM, REQ, XRP, POWR, SNT, TRX are all worth seriously looking into. Point being people should do significant research into some of these, learn about the projects they are working on long term and their upcoming releases.

I started with 3k in stocks, 2k in different types of crypto, and the miner I got ran me 2.5k. Now I'm at 4.8k in stocks, 5k in crypto, and I haven't profited off the miner yet but by next April or May I would have.

And this is the age to invest. Don't have a family or health expenses yet so I need to get it now. Got a house, 401k with a match, and tons of investments. Make your money work for you its the easiest way to be a millionaire and retire early (even if I still gotta put in 30 years). 7 years from now when I'm 30 I won't have all this extra income to blow.

Well done Rhodey. You seemed like a smart guy. I was long Bitcoin but sold too early. Still came out nice but I’m out to make a killing this year. I’m privy to some insight since I’m in the field. I should be way more aggressive than I actually am.

I got 2 friends that can buy houses in Malibu with their returns. Then again their principal investment took some juevos.

Did you lever your portfolio?

Jesus, I need to get off my damn phone and get out of this hot tub before I get too excited and either turn into a prune or drop my phone.

You got knowledge. I like you Smash. It’s a buy and hold strategy right now with crypto specifically bitcoin. Volatility will scare most off.

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing-strategy/062216/leverage-it-good-your-portfolio.asp

This is where people can lose their pants or get rich and get crazy returns. If you know the market very well, and want to play with fire, you’ll use leverage to get big returns. Some that I work amongst do this. In the industry we call it lever, short for leverage. This can have you retiring early or working an extra 10 years.
