Re: Knicks Schedule = PAIN
I saw this elsewhere:
"Meanwhile as this season has taken a hairpin turn into the dumpster again, it’s useful to remember that on Nov 14 Fizdale took Ntilikina and Doston out of the starting lineup, and then just a few days later took Mitchell Robinson out of the starting lineup to create the offensive juggernaut lineup of Mudiay, THJ, Knox, Vonleh, and Kanter.
Lineup data:
We started with the Defense First lineup of:
Frank, THJ, Dotson, Vonleh, MRob: 194 possessions, 99.5 DRtg (98th percentile), 107.2 ORtg (34th percentile), Net rating of +7.7 (88th percentile).
But we had “trouble getting into an offensive rhythm” so we then eventually switched to the OFFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT lineup of :
Mudiay, THJ, Knox, Vonleh, Kanter: 325 possessions, DRtg 121.1 (1st percentile, not in a good way), ORtg 103.7 (15th percentile), Net rating of -17.4 (1st percentile).
There is no way that Fizdale isn’t in on the #tank.
(Btw in a teeny weeny 44 possession sample size, Mudiay/THJ/Knox/Vonleh/Kornet has an ORtg of 136.4 and a DRtg of 106.8).
Kanter literally is the tank commander.
Mudiay, THJ, Trier, Knox, MRob: 88 possessions, 125.3 Drtg (Zero’th percentile), 100 ORtg (5th percentile)"

Knicks might not win a game in January.
We should maximize the reps when wins don’t matter

Re: Knicks Schedule = PAIN
the only problem with this schedule is that it means later in the year were gonna be playing weaker teams when KP is back
the real tank will be late in the year

Look at this guy - thinking about the marathon. That's the kind of thinking that's gonna make 2019 a glorious success.

Well no matter what we do we’re not gonna be the worst team in the league.
Unless we make a move or two to ensure it. Like moving kanter and thjr and Lee.
But if we can showcase KP as healthy, be the bottom five team in the league, and finally actually get a little bit of luck on draft day we might find ourselves picking in the top three and attracting a real free agent
That’s a successful 2019 to me

Balancing a healthy KP showcase, and keeping the tank on track will require some minutes management. If Kanter is still on the roster I think we can do it. Let's say KP is on a 20 minute restriction. Every Kanter minute undoes 5 minutes of positive play.

Re: Knicks Schedule = PAIN
There’s a couple bulls games late in the season that scare me but we should at least be a bottom 3 team giving us max odds at a top pick even if they bring kp back for limited minutes the last month of the season. The key is getting as much of a head start as we can now so those late games really don’t matter that much

You're playing with fire there because ostensibly KP's skillset is optimal to maximize Kanter's. Spacing and rim protection.

You're not wrong. KP was leading the league in defensive FG% inside 8 feet when he went down which I think will apply even if the Knicks surround him with starter level defensive talent. However he got so many of his raw blocked shots because he played behind turd fires like Rose, Jack, Tammy and **** Kanter because he had so many opportunities.
If we are still playing the worthless turds then I don't want KP coming back at all, it's a waste. If KP is coming back and playing in a lineup like
Frank
Dot
KK
Vonleh
KP
or
Frank
Dot
KK
KP
Mitch
I think I want him back, just to see if the young players look better with at least one NBA All Star level (or 75% back) talent.

Exactly. The head start is important.
This schedule has us good for 12 more losses and maybe 1 win.
The Wall-less Wizards being the possible exception.

Pretty sure Einstein proved that theory shortly before the whole relativity thing...which is why that equation isn’t as widely known as it should be.

Next 3 games are all Ls. I couldn't look any further. Better get as many of these in now before KP gets back.

How is it pain? It's the smoothest paved road for a tank to steamroll & barrel along with no problems & no resistance.

well, I was wrong about the team we were going to beat, but at 1-12 so far, we're just 4 losses away

Will they win more than the 14'-15' Knicks?
