Honorable mention: Kyrie/Dame/Embiid/Klay

I left PG out that was a mistake, he's above dame on my list. He really is ballin this year. I see Haren jumped klay :wavefinger: 8-)

Tier 15-20
Kyrie, Embiid, Vucevic, KAT, Gobert

Thats what came to me without going on a stats crawl. Been watching a lot of non-knicks basketball this season and those are the names that jump out to me. third tier is much harder to decide. I wish I could squeeze Lillard in.

Want to ding AD, Kyrie and Lebron down a tier due to the unnecessary drama this year but not gonna do it. And yes Jokic top 5 right now.

Vuc is a decent call. I should probably have had him on my bubbling under list at least. I can't see Curry that low, but, hey, contrary opinions make for an interesting day.

More of a right now list, without putting too much weight on past performances. Curry probably being at the head of that tier 2 list. He's still revolutionary talent and the best shooter in the league. But he's no longer the only one doing it. Still unfairly good and the best at it but no longer the same level of game breaker hes been in the past. Curry was pushed out of my current tier 1 by Jokic who is the only guy doing what hes doing right now and having a revolutionary season in his own right.

Ive been saying that this season and the next several upcoming are a time of changing of the guard. The old guard are winding down their careers and/or exiting their athletic prime. New guard are coming on strong as you can see from many t15s on here.

I don't know about some of these guys like Harden being ranked so highly. When you're discussing the very best players in the world, it seems to me that being a 2 way player should be a prerequisite.

My top 5 is AD>Giannis>Leonard>George>Durant

Changing of the guard seems right. fwiw, I don't have a problem with thinking Jokic is top-5. I guess I'm not as high on Harden as some people.

if jokic isn't in your top 10 then you don't watch enough basketball.

dude is the best passing big man in the history of the game, and also the joker is a great nickname.

not to mention the dude barely has any muscles on him lol- if only he took training seriously...

I'll start from this post:

Put you Lebron bias a side people smh...He still has 4 more years of playing at a high level...

Top 5:

#1.Giannis
#2.Lebron
#3.Curry
#4.KD
#5.Kawhi
#6.Paul G.
#7.Westbrook
#8.Jokic
#9.AD
#10.Harden* (he benefits immensely from Dantoni's system)

Can't put Embidd and Kyrie on the list because of their history of injuries- they're just a risk that I wouldnt take over those
guys- whats the point of being one of the best player if you're cant stay on the court...

Every guard that plays in Dantonis system has an advantage. If you put Westbrook in a Dantoni system his numbers would be inflated as well. Therefore, when you take that into consideration and compound it by the fact the Harden doesnt play defense I cant place him at top 5...
Dantoni is the reason he went from averaging 29pts to 36 pts...

That's ridiculous. He is the best scorer in the league. And he plays defence according to the system. He is top 5 this year. Lebron doesn't defend any more and doesn't have Harden's numbers. Not top 5?

Bumping this thread, needed to amend my list (dropped bron to # 3):

Steph
KD
bron
kawhi
Kyrie
Russ
AD
Giannis
PG
dame
Klay
Harden

I genuinely think KD will go down is one of the greatest to ever lace up the sneaks, god willing he stays injury free. Steph has transformed the game of basketball so Im a bit bias.

Just as a thought, KD has Jordans repetoire but in a 6'11 frame and has better handles than MJ. Defensively if he locks in...he can be more dominant than MJ on that side of the ball. People should really appreciate him a bit more, love the fact that he speaks his mind freely..seems like he began doing that once he left OKC.

Im a huge fan of Dame so Im trying to keep bias out of this as much as possible, otherwise he'd be higher. Harden is a bit lower on my list for reasons but he is a generational talent.

Kawhi only played 5 more games than Lebron. He isn't top 5 with his injury history.

No way is jokic a top 10 player. Hes getting exposed in these playoffs.

He's in the 20-15 range.

Who cares. 29pts is better than 90% of the rest of the top 10. The difference between he and the next best player is astronomical offensively. You cant fail to have him in your top 2 IMO.

Not to mention they arent even running a true Dantoni offense for you to be saying that. Dantoni never let the Suns isolate. However good or bad he did coach Melo and Kobe and if anything that's taught him how to coach a guy like Paul or Harden and hes done a good job. But point is he gets his points in every way possible. Iso, drive vs shoot, layup vs 3pter. He does it all. It ain't Dantoni. Dantoni might be why he can average double digit assists but not why hed averaging 36.
