I went Kira

surprised that DX is so low on Kira (#18 in their mock, #20 in their rankings). pretty much every other rankings I've seen has him in the top 15

what are his weaknesses? size is all I can think of. he's got elite speed, good handles, can shoot off the dribble and spot up, live-dribble pass w/ either hand, competes defensively (good steal, block #'s)

looking at the past 3 drafts, the #5 pick has been: De'Aaron Fox (2017), Trae Young (2018), Darius Garland (2019). Personally, I like Kira as a prospect more than Garland who I was a fan of last year (still wanted RJ tho). He's not as explosive/vertical an athlete as Fox, but he's the better shooter

Kira gets the sophomore treatment, but he's younger than most freshman and younger than the 3 players above

I have been thinking about it and I think we should trade 8 for the Celtics 3 picks if they are willing. There are just a bunch of good prospects and we can get the same level of prospect at 14 as at 8 unless someone slides which is unlikely. We could use 2 of 26,27,30 to probably move up to high teens to 20 range and load up on a bunch of quality young guys.

I am in on a bunch of guys at this point. Ramsey will be available later, Dotson will be available, Bane will be available, lets try and scoop up a couple atleast and still have a pick at 14.

Pretty presumptuous, imo

at least 2 or 3 more

We have so many subjects to cover and get a definitive answer:

1) Should we trade up for LaMello? Dallas 21 pick is enough or is too much?
2) Will LaMello be a bust? Can he learn how to shot and defend?
3) Should we trade Mitch? How is his value in the new NBA?
4) Can we draft a Big if he is the BPA like Wiseman or Onekya? Can he and Mitch play together?
5) Will Okoro learn how to shot? Is he a good complement to RJ and Frank?
6) Should we trade a pick for an aging star? Can a no shooter aging star help us?
7) Should we draft Haliburton? Can he learn to drive more to the rim? Will he be a great NBA shooter?
8) Will Obi learn how to defend? Will he turn into a Stretch 4?
9) Should we draft Hayes? Will he learn anything to do with his right hand? Will he be a good driver?
10) Did Vassel change his shot? Can he be more than a 3&d Role player?
11) Will Kira and Terry be great PGs? Why are they mocked so low? Will they be a defensive liability in NBA?
12) Can Maxey be a great guard? Does his size and his lack of playmaking abilities matter? Have we turned in a CAA branch?

He’s had some really mediocre/bad games and it wasn’t because he wasn’t zoned in or didn’t have help. Teams just planned for him and stopped him. That’s usually the difference between a starting and bench PG. Teams can’t just shut down a starting PG they are going to keep the team running and get their points regardless. Kira has to develop into that kind of player.

I expect us to come away with at least one of these guys with a later 1st pick or our 2nd round pick.

5 picks from a **** draft like this is legit just overkill. Theres a reason why celtics want to get rid of them. Stash picks are meh nowadays

boy, that's tough. if obi could play just average defense i would like him more but he can not defend at all. he's amare/kanter level bad. guys like that i end up hating no matter how much they score. they just get targeted by the opposition over and over. haliburton can defend some and will probably hit the open 3 decently but i see very little growth. and i don't think he's gonna excel at either of those things either. well damn. i can't pick 1, it's too painful. i will however support either one if we draft them. obi will probably give us some false hope in year 1 while haliburton will have us talking about "he still has time to grow" for 3 years like frank. looking at it like that i should probably pick obi, at least i'll get 1 year of deluding myself that we did good this time.
