Good luck Knox, you’re the oldest looking 22 year old I’ve ever seen.

This guy just reeks of loser. Rooting for him, but I’d take odds on him having a career in Europe or China before the League. Actually, I’d take odds on him ending up in his mom’s Tampa basement playing video games into his forties.

I feel like it takes a special kind of vitriol to say a man donated $2 Million to his HS and then say he “just reeks of loser” the next sentence. :dontknow:

Just saying, as far as I am concerned that young man is winning in life

Good luck to Kevin Knox, I wish you well. Hopefully, you get a chance to develop and show you belong in the NBA.

I'm guessing that $2mm will be close to 5% of his lifetime earnings. Would you donate 5% of your lifetime earnings to your high school?

It was idiotic/immature to the point of reckless. Not that his alma mater doesn't deserve a world-class athletic center, but to me it reeks of somebody who doesn't give a sh*t about his career. No vitriol intended, but it doesn't bode well for the young man's mindset to become a success. But for all I know maybe he's a NFT millionaire. Just doesn't seem like it's gonna happen with hoops.

- Slow feet
- Poor lateral agility
- Low BBIQ
- Streaky shooter

His only chance to make it in this league is to put on 25 lbs and become a stretch 4.

Charity does not make you stupid. I never said that, I don't believe that, and it's a ridiculous thing to say.

If Knox really wanted to make a difference in his community and family, he should lock in on his craft so he can be in a position to give much more later. To give that kind of dough early in your career on the cusp of NOT being offered a second NBA contract? Personally, I don't think that shows the mindset of somebody who's going to make it in the League (or anywhere, frankly).

Nope, Nope…. Nope :noway:

This is the NBA the majority of young guys are not putting their money into tech stocks and hiding it in a Roth IRA. We don’t even know what his money is being spent on beside this one story of him donating to the community that made him into a guy who finessed that initial contract.

Let’s not judge a man based on what he gives to Charity.

I do think he can stick. He just doesn’t fit here at all. All wings in Thibs system have to be able to create for themselves, PF don’t matter because Randle gets all those minutes. Hawks might keep him if he is affordable. During Covid Depth is even more important.

He made 18.5 million in the past 4 years as a teenager I think he probably made it somewhere in life I mean I’m not sure how high a roller you must be to look down your nose at that

Nothing to do with me. It’s just math. $18.5m (gross, not net) by the time he’s 22. That’s likely $10mm net, which means he just gave away 20% of his net worth.

He’s presently failing to earn a second contract of similar value, and he does not hold a college degree or seem to be the most motivated or savvy individual. Therefore it’s highly likely his lifetime gross earnings are close to $25mm-$30m or closer to $15-17mm net, which is a sh*tload of money, but not enough to warrant a $2,000,000 donation when he’s 22 and will need to support himself for another 70 years.

It’s a wonderful gesture and I feel great for the kids who’ll benefit, but as far as Knox goes? It reeks of bad judgement and somebody who’s likely not serious about his future. I mean it’s better than blowing it at strip clubs or on cars, but something about it just tells me this kid is not destined to succeed.

Disclaimer: I could be wrong and this could be a savvy tax write off or some kind of longterm commitment to philanthropy or maybe Knox is secretly a crypto billionaire, but on its face it doesn’t look good.
