I think Thibs is definitely going to insert Hart into the starting line-up due to rebounding alone.

Many players on our roster will have the opportunity of their careers right now:

Precious will be getting consistant playing time (likely in the 30 minute ballpark).
OG will get his chance at proving his offensive ability (he has been rumored to have wanted a bigger role in Toronto)
Deuce and Grimes will likely see increases playing time and shot opportunities
Sims will finally get his chance

All the fans that wanted to see a more free-flowing ball movement, quick passing, defense etc. will get their look at the Knicks.

I personally think the Knicks are going to be worse without Randle, but I don't expect a catastrophic dropoff. For example, I expect us to win 6-7 games prior to the all-star game. Indy didn't drop off much without Haliburton, Cleveland actually played better without Garland and Mobley.....

Brunson-DD-Hart-OG-Isiah with Deuce, Grimes, Precious, Sims off the bench. Not great, but the defense will be off the charts....and I trust in Brunson averaging 30+ points on efficient shooting.

The Knicks are only a few games out of being in the play-in tournament so they can't afford to struggle too much so it feels much more close than the few games separation they have with the 2nd seed in the east. Making the difference between 4-5 wins or 6-7 wins during this stretch huge.

2-7

9-0

Ok OG let's see what you got with the bigger scoring load & defensive focus. Has thrived with Brunson & Randle doing the heavy lifting. Hopefully it's similar to what happened when Deng was asked to be a primary force.

I think Hart will be the player that steps up the most. I'm assuming it will be a Brunson, DDV, Hart, Randle, Hartenstein starting unit with McBride, Grimes and Precious off the bench. That's pretty solid defensively, might be better actually, though I'm sure there will be a drop on the offensive end.
My concern for the Knicks before Randle's injury was their depth, even more-so now. They really should trade Fournier, Grimes, 2 frps for Murray and Mills - can't see any other team beating that. I think Murray would fit right in, even allow the Knicks to play small and fast with Randle at the 5.

I expect a blowout tonight. Charlotte is big time basura and they have no player that can straight up guard Jalen Brunson. OG should get 30 in this game.

Any update on Hartenstein? He’s the key to surviving this stretch.

Will Brunson get a 50 point game from today until the all-star break?

I know the Knicks have typically been tight-lipped about injuries but I don't know how to take the delay in hearing about the MRI results. It could be as simple as them not releasing the info because they don't have to and they will not divulge anything until they must as per league rules.

The media may not like it but who cares what they like, although this will undoubtedly drive the anxiety levels in the fan base higher than they normally are, which is typically pretty high anyway. It makes me wonder if they're deep in trade negotiations and don't want to tip their hand with an update.

Unless there has been an update but I'm clueless because I don't tweeter so if there has, then never mind....has there been an update?

I'm curious to see how PJ Washington handles our physicality. I haven't paid much attention to him when watching Charlotte, was more focused on Rozier & Richards, but Washington could be an interesting Randle-fill-in and giving the Hornets a protected FRP for him should convince them to release Hayward after the deadline so he could sign with us as well.

Woj said there's optimism that Julius will only be out for weeks instead of months.

I'd hate that. But I like Grimes a lot and the dozen or so Hawks games I've watched this season have me totally out on Murray. He's just too weak and lazy. He's shooting well but he's awful when it comes to scoring at the rim because he lacks the strength to deal with physicality, he gets pushed around 1-on-1 because of his lack of strength, and he dies on every screen.

Mixing Julius and jHarts shot selection+hustle would result in the perfect player.
