Wolves not trading KAT. I also shudder to think what the Knicks salary looks with KAT, OG, and JB's new contracts.

I still think Jonas Valanciunas would be a very nice option for the MLE. Can score some, rebound well, pass the ball, shoot a little.....not the best defender anymore but he would be ideal to run with the second unit with OG, Mikal, DD or Hart on the wings.

I hope there is a way to figure out the Mikal deal so we can use the MLE.....either for Jonas or for someone like Tyus Jones....can we still do sign-and-trades? Or sign someone to the MLE?

I think a sign and trade like Burks + Wiz pick for Tyus Jones could be of interest for both teams....would balance out our backcourt nicely....

Deuce, Jericho, Milwaukee’s pick, and Washington’s pick for Marcus Smart.
Would love to see him with us against Boston, Porzingis’ balls shriveled every time Smart guarded him.

I wonder did the Knicks try to get Caruso to come here with Mikal, or were they looking for an alternative to the Mikal trade?

I mean KAT or Markkanen are just what we need for that, but playing 5-out for short stretches does work like this too:

Brunson
DDV
Bridges
OG
Randle
(Hart is there too)

Now that Bridges is here, I’m okay with the roster.

I'm just done with Mitch at this point. He isn't the explosive monster he came in as and can't stay on the floor long enough to have a true valuable impact. I would rather trade him for a pick or 2, draft either Ware, Holmes or Flipowski and sign Goga to a vet min.

The Knicks rushed him back early from his recovery for a playoff run and Embiid intentionally injured him.

I think they keep Mitch

Almost have to and probably Precious. Filipkowski, Ware, Missi or Edey may very well be a Knick very soon

Maybe embrace the 2nd apron?

Keep everyone including Mitch, iHart, Precious and even Burks. Run this back.

If there's an iHart deal in place but due to cap constraints. Would you trade Mitch for 2 FRPs from OKC?

Sounds like they tried to go for Alex first, got turned down or didn't want to give up too much capital, then word got out that Brooklyn finally committed to a rebuilt.

Randle (29M + 2,8M Bonus), OG (38M expected), Mikal (23,3), Brunson (25M), Hart (18,1M), IHart (16,5M expected), Mitch (14,3M) Donte (11,5 + 0,7 Bonus), Deuce (4,7M).
Total 183,9 (9 players)
Full roster (plus 6 2M players in the better scenario) = 196M

We are already hard capped into the first (178) or into the second apron (188M).

Not sure if the trade has been finalized yet so we don't know if we'll be hard capped or not. We could be including some minimum deals to prevent that.

it's not finalized and won't be for some time. these types of trades are likely to be tweaked before completely finalized. knicks aren't going to hard cap themselves unless they know for sure ihart is gone and will prob use the MLE to replace him.

Definitely not this years but future years and I see protections on them but they can be conveyed.

Because if it's like the firsts they gave us to draft Jalen Williams then hard pass. We already have a pupu platter of heavily protected picks. We don't need more. And Mitch is actually helpful.

1) Sims & Diakete going out in that Mikal trade most likely
2) OG staying on a decent deal
3) iHart staying on a decent deal
4) Thibs gets his 3 year extension (we have Hurley or Wright waiting in the future)
5) Mitch gets traded into cap space for assets
6) Randle and Brunson extend their contracts later this year
7) We retain Precious on QO; Burks on a small deal
8) Rokas does not come over this year
9) We draft two players (Dunn & Shannon Jr.); trade our other pick forward
10) We sign a 3rd string center on the vet min (Drummond?)

/end prediction

Just imagine both LOL. Not remotely enough minutes for all those gems.
