He definitely doesn’t lack effort while attacking the offensive glass. It is reckless, but he shows effort on it.

He hit his first two free throws to start the game. If what Utah is asking for is a first round pick, I wouldn’t feel bad about the Washington first rounder.

Having him come off the bench in a playoff game wouldn’t worry me like Sixers did when Paul Reed came in

they are certainly looking for a legit 1st rounder (not a "fake" one that still has a high likelihood of not conveying).

Ainge will for sure.

Ainge gonna want more than weak picks. Better off just rolling with Mitch and precious and see who becomes available later in the year. Or try to get nick Richards. Kessler not worth the price Ainge wants

I wouldn't want to give up much more than Duece for him (or 3 team whatever dueces value in terms of re-routing draft picks to utah). But its just about minutes and NEED more right now.

Brunson is 34-36 mins
Mikal is 34-36 mins
OG is 34-36 mins
DD is 24 mins at least
Hart is 24 mins at least
Randle is 34-36 mins

Our center rotation of Mitch and whoever else is playing center is going to be another 48.

That leaves what 8-10 minutes for Duece a night just backing up Brunson. With DD coming off the bench that certainly complicated Dueces role. And we have insurance with Kolek and potentially the TPMLE to get a vet guard as well.

Mitch being injury prone could derail our season if we don't get a viable backup/spot starter big.

I just wouldn't panic based on need right now. Seems like Walker is getting a little overrated too. He's fine, just don't think I'd pay the asking price which is probably Deuce plus a pick or even multiple picks. Ainge won't have an interest in crappy picks either.

Not even sure we can play Kessler big minutes against teams like the Celtics, Sixers, Bucks in the playoffs anyway. He doesn't really match up well against those teams... Embiid averages 45ppg against Walker. Celtics will pull him out of the paint rendering him a liability. We probably need to learn to play small ball to beat them.

Kessler should have came in looking like a tank. He still look like a rookie year 3.

the first thing I wrote about edey on this board was how he had a NBA level playing weight and body that a lot of recently hyped up 7 footers didnt have in order to play center (Chet, wemby). and that I doubted he would be a bust immediately.

you could see on tape how his strength would translate. he just wasn't a tall guy. he was moving dudes and he couldn't be moved.

I looked that up because that seemed a bit crazy . That was Embiid vs the Jazz. Kessler in the game that embiid dropped 59 was the backup and was a +13 in 12 minutes with 3 blocks (seemed like the only guy that defended him decently). Jazz like to play really small with there starters I think Vanderbilt was there starting 5 and got cooked.

I don't think anyone is "overrating him" he is what he is...good rebounding, good rim protection and can finish around the basket. I wouldn't call it a panic move unless we way overpaid which I think at this point Leon wouldn't do. If its too rich we look for other scenarios.

The issue with Edey has never been other centers it’s been what happens if he gets switched onto elite wings and guards. I think you can hide him, and Lowkey he has the upside a team might find it worth it, but honestly he’s been cooking other centers for years.
