How to fix our putrid defense:

1. Start Precious over Hart
2. Play Bridges and Hart under 32 mins so they can go harder on defense
3. Replace Sims with Mitch when he returns
4. Incorporate more switches on picks... way more
5. Stagger KAT and Brunson's minutes more so they play together less.
6. Play at a faster pace

We have the talent to get into the top 12 of defense... no reason we should be this pathetic. This is mainly on Thibs.

McCullar's gotta get healthy first, then he's gotta show something in g-league and practice. He's got a ways to go...

Hart and Bridges playing fewer minutes will help them be better on the defensive end. They're conserving energy and running out of gas because they know Thibs is riding them for practically 40 every night.

One can argue this will get much better when we get our two defensive bigs back. Deuce being banged up hasnt helped our defense either. The offense is nuts but then there are times where we put up only 15 pts in the first quarter.

This isn't that shocking if it's not rate adjusted, seeing as the Knicks play at one of the slowest paces in the league. Raw total ranking will make this team look better than it is.



For this to be happening year after year with this coach in the modern NBA is maddening. I mean, WTF are we even doing here? How is this in any way a sound or reliable strategy?

Cavs are worse than the Knicks in defending the 3 and 2nd to last in the league. Kenny Atkinson is a terrible outdated coach confirmed.

I have no idea if Atkinson is a truly elite coach, but I do know it's undeniable he's doing a better job running Cleveland this year than Thibs is doing here in NYC to this point.

Minimizing poor 3P defense with efficient, high-octane, relentless, fresh legs offense seems like a sound philosophy to me. The Cavs play at the 7th fastest offensive pace and have 10 (TEN!) players averaging at least 19 minutes a game, which has produced the #1 scoring offense AND the #1 efficiency offense in the league.

I dunno, I think the difference between us and the Cavs is more than Pacome Hukporti and Kolek. We tend to massively overrate our rookies, they have been really bad so far which was expected.

McCullar's gotta get healthy first, then he's gotta show something in g-league and practice. He's got a ways to go...

Hart I can see it, but Bridges doesn't look tired to me, just soft and physically weak. He needs to hit the weight room and get motivational talks from Charles Oakley. Either way both can get less minutes from the bench.

That's a normal thing...sometimes, the offense goes cold. The three ball sometimes just goes.

What's not normal is that we put up 15 and then go down by 20 and the game is over. We should be able to win games 130 to 90, but I think we should also have the tools to win 92-90 too, when we're shooting like shyt.
