He's willing to throw his own reputation in the garbage to defend Thibs, pretty sad to see. Anyone watching that game could see he got outcoached, they were without 3 starters and he's still copping pleas for Tom. Just embarrassing.

Wait, what happened to we have a good bench and net rating and just need starters to get rest while they lock up other teams? Now you back pedaling on your own statements and running away. Now our rookies are the saviors? Lmaooo

Creating a cohesive bench unit is a process just like the starting unit but Thibs doesn't have the patience for it. There's so much more potential with this roster.

Thibs in a modern game

Praised Sims last month, gave him DNP-CDs for the last few weeks, played him 29 mins in this game, didn't play in the whole 2nd half if I'm not mistaken (??)
Huk played well in the Nets game and got punished with DNP-CDs
Kolek killing in GLeague, and played well controlling tempo in the little playing time he's given but nope
First time I've ever seen Mikal show signs of limping around, playing too much in 37 games
KAT played too much and may now be nursing a semi-serious injury
JB banged up too
OG might be banged up too

Players are confused... the starters get disproportionately rewarded with too many minutes and too many green lights they can't do no wrong. Now they take mins and shots for granted

The bench players are confused as to which plays earn more playing time, which do not, because when they played the right way and played well they got punished with DNP-CDs... others like Cam Payne can airball 3s and keep getting mins.

Please resign coach you're toxic to the organization

The turning point may have been JB being put on the All Star team. To be fair to him, over dribbling is a symptom of exhaustion too.

It’s hella dumb for the Knicks to just sort of stand around and let this happen. Brunson should be passing or resting.

Kind of simple.

So we’re pinning our hopes that a new coach will play a bunch of 2nd round pick g league rookies and they are going to save the season and win the championship

To be fair Kolek probably couldn’t have played much worse than anybody else did but still

This highlights an extreme depth flaw in the roster

I wonder if Leon Rose is watching how Thibs is single-handily poisoning this great starting 5 by playing them over 35+ minutes per game...

disagree...there have been some concerning trends even during our win streak. We haven't been hitting 3's for a minute now. OG looks like a shell of himself. Brunson 3 ball in the last couple weeks has completely went in the ****.

Thibs even just said we played a low energy game. Why are we playing a low energy game...maybe 3 games in 4 nights with very limited rotations?

Here's a novel idea, try something different, give the rookies a chance when a Two way player is on the floor. Why are you complaining about sims too? Your god is the reason why Sims is even playing tonight, since Tom left KAT in against the Bulls down 15 and he got injured, lets talk about that too. You want to criticize Sims, well then maybe the guy you're defending tooth and nail shouldn't have left his all-star C in the game when it was over. Sims playing is a direct result of the coach being an idiot

You sounding like DJ Hezidemiks right now and Tom is your Drake

I don’t want to be the typical annoying Knick fan with the sky is falling takes, but the terrible second halves in the Okc and Chi game, along with being completely outplayed by an injury depleted Magic team coming off a back to back is concerning. Like it’s only January and these 3 losses have exposed this team’s glaring weaknesses.

At the moment, I don’t have faith in them winning against a team like the Hawks, let alone the Magic, Cavs and Celtics.

They also don’t have enough assets to acquire sufficient bench help. Even if they trade Mitch, that leaves them with a glaring hole at center come playoff time. We went all in with this starting lineup, which is good enough to win 50 games, but nowhere near good enough to beat Boston or Cleveland.

Talk about deflating. Reality hit hard. This team is not good enough as currently constructed to be a legit contender. Thibs wearing out his starters 3 months into the season, the bench is complete garbage, and I suspect injuries will derail the season at some point.

What’s the purpose then? Run the starters into the ground because you want to keep playing the same guys over and over off the bench ? It’s been half a season, look at Mosley, he’s winning games with his second and third string players against our starters

It comes down to coaching
HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO SEE WHAT THE ROOKIES CAN BECOME IF YOU DONT PLAY THEM??
WE ARE LOSING THE GAMES ANYWAY

Yeah. Let's ignore the injuries limiting the team and point to the ONE game the bench played more than 40 minutes combined. GTFOH with this BS. This team is run like shyt and it's the HC doong the damage! Thibs needs to be fired yesterday!

This is all on Thibs! Overextending players will eventually catch up with you, either by injury or sluggishness on the court. We're seeing a mixture of both now. We just went through this in the playoffs last year. During the Indiana series guys started breaking down because of overuse. Injuries and tired legs allowed Indiana to come back from a 3-1 hole. This is a marathon not a sprint.
