He showed he could be more than a 3 and D guy over the last few years but he has accepted that role again while also having to step up and carry a bigger load at times.

He hasn't complained about being asked to be the point attack defender all game while playing crazy minutes and dealing with a ton of criticism from an impatient fan base in an unforgiving media landscape. I like the improvements I have seen from him on the defensive end recently and I have no issue with him attempting to improve his jump shot last off-season. I trust him to get the kinks worked out by next season.

I love his ability to get to his spots in the midrange and create for himself and others at times. Nothing flashy. Just simple and effective. If he can get that above the break 3 figured out while maintaining his current level of defense I would have no complaints about him.

I just like his workman-like attitude mixed with just the overall positivity. I still wouldn't have traded all those picks for him but that wasn't his decision.

Mikal's play the past 10 days has been key to the current successes. We're finally attacking the other team's point of attack with generally strong results and Mikal is usually the key to this. We're short circuiting PGs like Trae and Jar and last night we undermined Jokic significantly. This is why defense should not be so dependent on drop coverage and defending the paint instead of the perimeter. Thibs finally adjusted and the results show we can be a good defensive using the personnel we've got NOW.

Bridges - for the old school mid range game, smooth style and being unashamed to use sticky deodorant on exposed pits

OG - for being a quiet defensive assassin who can occasionally go off on offense

Hart - for being the heart and soul of the team, a Rodman like rebounder and the guy who doesn't care about stats but accumulates them anyway

KAT - for being the hometown kid who comes back to be the best center since Ewing. And that passing. And shooting.

Deuce - for being the scrappy defensive bench pest with a very good jumper that all really good teams have

Honorable mention:
Precious - another hometown hero with a nice all around game
Payne for being a nutty scrappy shot maker
Sims for looking like super sized Little Lord Fauntleroy

What a cop out. Make a choice man.

Dadiet

j/k, obviously.

Brunson. How can it not be?

It's not just effort with Hart. He knows where the rebound is going before anyone else. Rodman could read angles and ball spins like that too. He's so much faster getting to spots.

I will put it like this. No other player on the Knicks generates more excitement when they're on fire than Bridges. The Garden is absolutely rocking!

Starks was my favorite 90s player I have a Starks jersey I still wear to games and I like Hart. He’d probably be my favorite player. Except Towns exists

I’m surprised OG doesn’t get more love. Since he’s probably the best defensive player we’ve ever had. Maybe it’s his calm demeanor. Love watching him play

Brunson is my favorite player but I love Deuce as well.

I was definitely against trading McBride in the offseason for a center. These 2nd rounders who outplay their "potential" to prove people wrong, and just slowly developing from the bench through hard work and determination.

Our young guys before like Kevin Knox, Barrett, all these high draft picks, they were given minutes right off the bat without having to earn them. Deuce fought in the GLeague and earned his minutes. He earned them in the playoffs too.

Deuce is that guy who will eventually hit a big game winner in the playoffs

Hart for the reasons others have mentioned.

I’d go backpacking around Europe with Deuce though!

Yup. I was in elementary school during those early to mid 90’s playoff runs with that team, but Starks was my guy.

I was a mean little bastard back then itching to practice my karate training on any kid who looked at me the wrong way, so I loved seeing the little guy getting up in Reggie’s or MJ’s face all the time.

Just like with Hart, I admired the heart he played with every night. That’s how I played the game throughout school.
