I think they should have all stars act as hype men for no name dunkers. Justin Darlington presented by LeBron James, for example. The money and recognition would mean something to those guys plus there would be some name recognition involved. Just get the best dunkers out there. It could even be an NBA player.

I guess if you want viewers to watch your lame All Star weekend then why not just have them play the Harlem Globetrotters too? We could shoot guys out of cannons and bring in elephants and clowns. Have them light the basketballs on fire for every dunk. The three point shooting contest they should have to grab the balls out of baskets full of poisonous snakes.

Right but the difference between the examples you gave and the one I gave is you'd actually have the best dunkers attempting dunks in mine.

They should cancel this and just give these guys a weekend off since that’s how they treat it anyway.

Do a Pro Bowl type game after the season is over if you want. Or just do nothing. These guys don’t care at all and don’t want to care. Too much money at play.

All Star should be a one-on-one tournament and a three-point contest. That’s all. I haven’t watched All Star Weekend in years, and neither should any of you.

Waiting for the Real GM news headline saying that yesterday's slam dunk competition had the highest ratings in the last 20 years.

Kevin Love has been trolling on social media for the past year I think...some of his stuff is hilarious.

Also, I can't hate on McClung. He's gotta pay the bills. Apparently he's earned more money from his dunk contests ($310k) compared to his NBA career ($132k).

Yeah. I kind of thought the idea was to have NBA All stars compete in these events. Not "professional dunkers". Whatever. Like I suggested, just have a circus every year and play a basketball game in the middle of it. What's the difference?

All-star weekend has been unwatchable for at least a decade. I'd rather watch Eddy Curry highlights.

Silver had hinted at getting rid of the dunk contest but McClung single handedly brought it back last 3 years. I'm not afraid to admit he's the only reason I even tuned it this year. He's creative and his hops come outta no where like a ninja.

Trying to cheat and Donovan respecting that they were trying to win speaks volumes. It's not about doing your best. It's about doing as little as possible to win. Good way to be a role model for the kids that look up to you.

Except Jaylen Brown did it a few years ago and everyone thought it was an embarrassment. Most all stars aren't really working on creative dunks. Maybe Ja Morant? The dunk contest and 3pt contest have always included non all stars. Harold Miner, Dee Brown, and Kenny Walker are among the contest winners. They were trash players. You only have a few years where a Dwight Howard or MJ or Bird comes in and takes over.

It's always been a contest with the best dunkers only now most of those guys aren't NBA players.

Minor was the first "baby Jordan" before Hill. He was just a bust.
