Deuce just popped some low key shots, too. "Lots of things got exposed this year." Take it what you will.

I would agree that they have poor synergy. It's mostly like they're taking turns. But I think it's pretty crazy that Towns gets all the blame for this and not the guy that is running the offense.

KAT on, Brunson on: +4.42 Net, 1464 Minutes

KAT on, Brunson off: +9.11 Net, 1053 Minutes

Brunson on, KAT off: -0.84 Net, 837 Minutes

The blame is not solely on KAT, he has deficiencies, but it’s on the coach to have a defensive system and scheme to help.
There was NO ZONE ran at all this year. How did Jokic and Murray win a ring? These guys aren’t world class defenders here, but their coach allowed a system to mask Jokic’s deficiencies.
Regardless, KAT shouldn’t shoulder the entire load here. Brunson was a turnstile on defense far too long as well. Hart can’t guard a tree. So I won’t even bother reading articles like this.

this is a situation where everyone has blood on their hands; no one is blameless

everyone has to own up their misgivings for how the season turned out

For the playoffs:

KAT on, Brunson on: -4.6 Net (this is a huge problem)

Kat on, Brunson off: +10.8 Net

KAT off, Brunson on: +5.7 Net

Summary: They don't work together (and also Towns was better than Brunson all year and in the playoffs)

His defense was so pathetic yesterday, holy ****.

I said it on trade day and i say it again. KAT is not the kind of player that fits here. Im rooting for him and i will cheer for him as long as hes wearing the knicks jersey. But i dont see how we win a ring with brunson and kat.
im bout dat action boss

Kat defense is terrible but he is not a give a way in the trade. We need to make peace that he is who he is and do our best to mask it. This will require Thibs to be gone as he is the low hanging fruit.

Bridges needs to go but we will never recover from those 6 picks we gave up for him. Guy had been a total disappointment on offense and defense. If his defense was gona be this trash then we might as well went all in on Donavan.

OG- would like to keep him and maybe he will be more happy if Bridges is gone cause he is looking disinterested. We need to get him more touches.

Payne- should leave his NY jersey in the locker room and never come back.

Shamet earned a 3 year deal

Hart is better as a bench player which I'm Glade he is willing to be without drama.

exactly how i feel. he has descernable flaws and isnt perfect, but the front office has to lie in whatever bed they made, no? He helped alot in quenching that ecf drought and he isnt old and doddering just yet. A new coaching staff, I feel, could apply a new paintjob to this present core of players who are willing to play under the bright lights of new york

Thibs coached him before so this should have already been known.

I think the article itself is fine. We knew there were issues behind the scenes.

But this just isn't a KAT problem. Mikal's erratic play and unwillingness to take contact is an issue. Brunson's lack of attention to detail defensively is a problem. Josh's TOs and frankly bad defense are a problem.

Coaching, well I've made my feelings clear already.

Things change and he played much better for a Thibs this time. It’s really the bad defense IQ and lack of consistency game to game offensively that is annoying.

I actually don’t think those are deal breakers. It was how he was being hunted defensively next to Brunson on this last series which is the real issue the FO might have to address this summer.

After reading the article, and not the sensational headline, I actually am a little bit more positive about the outlook of this team….

It’s interesting what quotes people latch on to. Y’all see dysfunction with KAT, I see a team that just needs another year to develop chemistry, cohesion and continuity and they’ll take the next step. The folllwoing quotes support my theory….

The situations to get stops, to have help, you know what I’m saying?” Tucker continued. “That, to me, we have talent, but that’s 80 percent of everything else —being able to communicate, be able to get stops, to be on the same page on offense and be able to read each other. We needed to do those things instead of putting our hands up and looking at each other.

That comes with familiarity and trust and a lot of times you only get that when you go through adverse situations together,” Hart said during the Pistons series when asked about the team’s comfort level in correcting one another in real time. “So, it takes time. And there’s times where — there was a play with J.B., a pullup, he had KAT wide open, I’m not sure if KAT said something to him, but I know that if KAT goes, ‘Look at the pop, I’m open on the pop,’ he’s going to look at that. Same thing with KAT, same thing with all those guys.

“So it’s definitely a feeling-out process. It comes with time. But we’re all old enough. I think our hearts are in the right place. So you know it’s not coming out of any selfish intent. So that’s something we can do more, and we will do more of.”

You can’t get experience without getting experience,” Brunson said. “It’s helped out a lot, brought us closer together. I think, for the most part, we see a lot, we hear a lot, but we make sure we’re on the same page together. Regardless of what anyone else says, we got each other’s back.”

All these quotes clearly indicate that we just need time to gel and no major changes.

People forget that championship teams have to go through tough losses together and learn from it together and the bond gets tighter. Every successful team goes through it. And it’s only YEAR ONE with this core together.

People need to get a grip, this team is on the right track.

I think the issue is this isn’t just the core, it’s basically the whole team since there isn’t any reliable depth. Either they move someone or all they have is a Precious S&T and the TP-MLE to improve the roster.
