I'm still mad at Kidd for quitting on the team in 2013 to take the Nets coaching job. I might have to get over that.

I can live with Kidd but Luke Walton and Mike Brown are not it.

Just run it back with JVG

Well well well, look who decided to show up

I posted in the last thread too but it was crazy, and there's new rules to figure how to post nicely in this topic

I thought they had more of a plan, are we getting a new coach at least by today???

After careful consideration, I believe Mike Budenhulzer would be the best coach for this team to get to the next level. 16 years under the Coach Pop tree so he knows a motion offense inside and out. Proven winner until the debacle which is Phoenix. Knows how to maximize his top players stregnth in in a team first system. I dont think there is truly a better option in this market.

All accounts say this search will go on for a while and the Knicks are casting a wide net.

The first coaching search under Leon took weeks.

It’s no simpler than this, you don’t know what a person is built for until you give them that opportunity to prove themself.

Eric Spo was a video assistant/advance scout/assistant coach then coached the Heat to a 15-67 record then the year after, he was coaching LeBron/Wade/Bosh.

I get the appeal of a big name taking the reins but sometimes that’s all it is, a big name. How often have we been talking about a young fresh face to inject energy and I’m not talking penicillin.

Take more chances, let’s go Johnny.

Preach!!!

I hate the fact that in nearly every coaching opportunity teams just hire a retread Head Coach who is mediocre at best.

Hahn on Sirius today said this is definitely not a job for a first time head coach, thinks they should throw money at the best coaches possible currently employed or not--which could sway Udoka because he's underpaid and would love to get revenge on Boston.

Why don't we go after Herb Williams? He has way more experience in the league that Jhonny Bryant, has longer ties with the organization than Rick Brunson and would make sure to play the guys at the end of the bench because he once held that role as a Knicks player.

No. He didn't do anything wrong to be fired imo. Just ran into a red hot Playoff Jimmy who went out of his mind in the 1st round after a 58 win season. As can be seen throughout the league, there is no loyalty anymore when it comes to coaches. Milwaukee went for the shiny new toy with Griffin until Doc weasled his way in.

I think people are making too much of the fact that the Knicks let Thibs go without a successor in mind. I’m sure they have some names in mind but I’m encouraged they’re taking their time and being open minded. This is not a decision to be rushed.

If Thibs wasn’t the guy, they had to let him go regardless.

He was going to be fired the year before if he didn't win the title. They felt that he was too defensively rigid (committed to drop coverage even when it didn't make sense), never adapted to the opponent, poor clock management, and reportedly lost the trust of Giannis.

listening to the hood collective podcast, i had forgotten about when we signed j kidd to play for the knicks that he had verbally committed to resigning with the mavs but then changed his mind. funny how much history we have between the mavs and knicks.

yeah, its laughable kidd and udoka's names are on that supposed list as if their mother teams would even allow them

Dallas always helped us out, including taking Porzingis off our hands and giving us Brunson. But now they're under new management, so doubt they'd really want to help us steal their coach - unless they're thinking about firing him so they could hire Thibs.
