He had a horrendous drive then was immediately blown by on defense and that was the end of his night.

In fairness, the whole team was getting blown by, they ran us all over the court

OG is starting to wake up. We’re gonna be fine. The East is wide open.

Moral victory!

I see Landry is practically the sixth man, and Im not exactly thrilled with him but Clarkson needs to be cut from the rotation, his shot selection is disastrous

And I'm okay with that. I would rather explore now, as opposed to randomly throwing in Landry Shamet and Delon Wright onto the floor in the playoffs against the Pacers and telling them to figure it out then.

Even Thibs took 20 games to figure out he had to bench Fournier's ass.

Mitch, KAT, OG, Mikal, Brunson

With Huk, Deuce, Shamet, and Kolek getting the bulk of the bench minutes is decent. Hart has to get surgery.

This isn’t a brand new team. It’s the same team that was a rim magnet away from the nba finals with another role player sprinkled in. Everyone played. There’s no more excuses. Where is the continuity? I don’t wanna hear about how they were 5-5 last year. New starters Mikal and Towns and other additions were still getting acclimated. They’ve all for the most part had a long time together now. They should have hit the ground running this year.

We gave up 139 to the Bulls last year with a shortened rotation. The defense just needs to be better or they need to find better defenders.

How many more games are you willing to lose to keep playing around with line ups?

Yes, the Knicks also started the last two seasons losing games but they loss to a healthy Rockets, Celtics and Cavs team last season. The year before that we still had mid RJ starting.

This season people said they were supposed to come out the gate much better with the new offense not holding back the most talented roster in the NBA.

The defensive effort was better to start the season, we relaxed on the road.

So is he brown's scapegoat? I went back to re-watch because that's not how I remembered it.

He got switched onto heurter and let him go by and fouled him. Normal play. Was nothing out of the ordnary for your 5 man in that situation.

Then he attempted a drive and missed a layup - was again a normal play.

if anything the next play got him benched, but it was just josh hart losing his man - if anything hart should be benched. guy just slipped right through and caught an easy pass for a layup. horrible defense by hart. you could argue yabs playing the 5 there should be sunk into the paint more to help on that, but his assignment at the time was smith in the corner who can shoot 3s. Brown called timeout after the play.

Towns showed up a day or 2 before camp and we looked way better than this last year. Like I said in the game thread, the Cavs had a completely new system last season and they were incredibly immediately.

Not sure. But I probably wouldn't be whining after 5 games and a 2-3 record. Well, not unless I really really unconditionally loved a player who a lot of people disliked for justifiable reasons, and I needed to put down his replacement to try and justify my love for him. Then I'd probably jump the gun and proclaim victory and feel a vicious joy when the Knicks lose.

Or same with a coach. In the end, I'm judging Mike Brown by whether he can get us to the next level in the playoffs. If I just wanted the regular season wins, I would totally be a Thibs supporter though.

we need to stop pretending last year's playoff run wasn't a fluke.

barely got by the pistons with the refs help

back to back fluke comeback wins when the celtics missed everything then the tatum injury

would have still lost to the pacers even if they won game 1.

the roster isn't that good. Brunson is the only "elite" star and even he is an undersized score first guard with limited playmaking and awful defense.

2nd best player is Kat? a guy that has been made fun of his entire career. Top 20-30 player maybe.

after that some mid role players in Bridges and OG.

Are these random scrubs on the heat or bulls or bucks that much worse? on paper yes - Bridges and OG are both like top 40-50 right? Is Josh hart top 60? he might be unplayable. Mitch?

Team isn't good and it's not on the coach.

What's most concerning to me is they play with sporadic intensity. There will be a spurt in one quarter and then a race to get back in the game at the end. Then the rest of the game is disjointed like they don't know where they're supposed to be or what they're supposed to do.

This is a step back. Early returns say we've lost a LOT of resiliency.
