I definitely dont see it happening with Landry.

A guy like Jimmer is a very intriguing prospect and more so for this team than most.

Our team is obviously built around Amare and Carmelo and their scoring. We need a team that can keep defenses honest. This is partially why Fields has suffered. Gallo kept the defense honest and Landry could roam. With Carmelo and Amare you need an outside shooter to spread the defense or they will take away the middle and Amare and Melo become jump shooters only.

Jimmer is a threat from the halfcourt line. Hes more so than Douglas or Williams or Walker IMO. More so even than Reddick probably.

Im a fan but we need a BU point with some experience and we need a SG who has a high IQ so neither Fields nor Douglas should be moved for him IMO

Think about it again NLR? Then think back to the Boston series? TD was turrible.... fredette would have opened things up so much even as a rookie. If it guaranteed getting Fredette I would trade Douglas in a heartbeat.... Fields ehhhhh.... not so much. I haven't soured on Fields yet. He spoiled people. He was good quick and fans started overhyping him and then he came crashing down (mostly because of the rookie wall). I love Fields coming off the bench for Melo and being out there with Amar'e.
we asked a lot of Douglas in that series. Defend Rondo, run the point in the playoffs against a very smart vet team and create plays for Melo in a system thats new to him and we were being shut down from executing.

I dont overrate Douglas but I do respect his defense and his heart. I think hes an important bench player for us especially if we dont add a real PG .

Jimmer isnt a real PG IMO, though he might surprise like Curry has

Then shouldn't you also remove Thompson since A) most mocks have him going well before 17 and B) "trade up" may well be synonymous with "Thompson."

TD 17 and 3 mill (a future 2nd if we have any to trade?) for 14 and 24 (right numbers?).

Draft Jimmer and the USC big man (don't know how to spell).

If anyone falls into the 2nd round we like, buy a couple 2nd rounders and stock the coffers.

If HOU won't take that deal, make a similar deal with PHX for the 13 and Robin Lopez. Draft Jimmer.

The draft Jimmer is just based on the speculation of this thread.

also, the adidas eurocamp will be this weekend. does anyone know if it will be televised and what channel? guys of interest should be donatas, biyombo and lucas. not sure how many will work out but biyombo is. the measurements should be informative at least.

I wonder how Nogueira will do with some proper competition. His stock has been falling.

Those are some pretty significant workouts. Singleton could be our pick at 17 if he's still on the board. Plus Shumpert/Jenkins/Goudelock have all been talked about as potential late first or second round picks.

yeah, would like to see how he does. don't know if it's being televised but if someone in europe (*cough* do you have a video capture card or anything?) could record it or something that would be awesome.

players have until the 13th to pull out right? i guess depending on how he does and the feedback he gets from scouts, he can make his decision then. not sure if he signed with an agent or whatever the rules are etc. getting him with a later pick would be pretty great.

Let's try and be the worst defensive team in the NBA!

When looking at point guards in the draft, we should be worrying a lot more about how they could perform offensively. It's a position that you fill with the right offensive guy, not with a defensive stopper. If you can get both, great - but for that position offense comes first.

NY defense will have to be a team scheme, not based on individual talents

I don't really think Jimmer's PG skills are that much of a can't miss...but then again I was too busy watching him bury 30 footers instead running the offense like a pure point. So...yea.

Probably going to demand Fields and #17. Knicks might counter with Douglas and #17. Either way it better be a home run pick otherwise it would look real real bad.

To do what? Jump up 4 spots? Walsh would be an idiot to do that. More reasonable is he offers the 17th and 3 million in cash or, at most, 17 and Bill Walker.

Was just saying what I thought Houston would ask for is all. Not saying we should do it. Besides four spots is tricky I mean what if 14th ended up a bust and Houston scored at 17 lol? So I dunno if its worth it at all. But from Houston or any other team side theres no way you trade down unless you get back something that would compensate for bombing on the lower pick. With Walsh though does anyone really think hes going to run the draft and four days later have no job here? Sounds kinda weird to me. Knicks might slap his face on the night but not so sure he'd actually be doing the work.
