we asked a lot of Douglas in that series. Defend Rondo, run the point in the playoffs against a very smart vet team and create plays for Melo in a system thats new to him and we were being shut down from executing.ibraheim718 wrote:NoLayupRule wrote:I really doubt we move TD in a trade up in this draft, besides which I dont see Houston needing him.
I definitely dont see it happening with Landry.
A guy like Jimmer is a very intriguing prospect and more so for this team than most.
Our team is obviously built around Amare and Carmelo and their scoring. We need a team that can keep defenses honest. This is partially why Fields has suffered. Gallo kept the defense honest and Landry could roam. With Carmelo and Amare you need an outside shooter to spread the defense or they will take away the middle and Amare and Melo become jump shooters only.
Jimmer is a threat from the halfcourt line. Hes more so than Douglas or Williams or Walker IMO. More so even than Reddick probably.
Im a fan but we need a BU point with some experience and we need a SG who has a high IQ so neither Fields nor Douglas should be moved for him IMO
Think about it again NLR? Then think back to the Boston series? TD was turrible.... fredette would have opened things up so much even as a rookie. If it guaranteed getting Fredette I would trade Douglas in a heartbeat.... Fields ehhhhh.... not so much. I haven't soured on Fields yet. He spoiled people. He was good quick and fans started overhyping him and then he came crashing down (mostly because of the rookie wall). I love Fields coming off the bench for Melo and being out there with Amar'e.
I dont overrate Douglas but I do respect his defense and his heart. I think hes an important bench player for us especially if we dont add a real PG .
Jimmer isnt a real PG IMO, though he might surprise like Curry has
