Knicks trade - Shumpert and Tyson chandler
Magic trade - Vucevic + top 3 protected 2014 1st

you get an elite defensive center and a great defender in shumpert
knicks take on vucevics contract and get a 2014 1st

hardaway jr and chandler for vucevic and 2014 top 3 protection

hardaway jr and shumpert and two 2nd round picks for tobias harris and vuc

I'd take vucevic straight up for chandler right now. wanting a 2014 pick for shump is just crazy talk.

if he is smart his options are 1. sign somewhere else to have a chance to win next season and 2. go all in for the 2015 plan. meaning forget about the 14/15 season and hope do everything you can to get help in 2015.

i hope he isnt dumb enough to think immediate help for next season will get this team above a 1st or 2nd round exit.

The Knicks plan of doing nothing is genius.

Yes - that is odd as well.

Does anyone wonder if maybe Kmart and Artest really went off on each other or on Woody and his game plan.

Now Ron is being bought out and KMART is supposed to be out with his sore ankle but it's now been plus 2-3 weeks and playoff dream is gone.

Still no updates....nothing....nada.

Woody done lost the team a long time ago. The rest of the season is just a matter of playing it out.

Knicks have a lonnnnnnnng road ahead of them.

I knew Woodson was a terrible signing. Why? Because he has no pull from the superstar, executives or owners. You can see it during last year's playoffs when you see Melo just going straight ISO on 40% of the plays. It was also a terrible signing because we literally wasted 1.5 years for nothing.

1.) Need to hire a coach that will take no crap from GM Melo or Dolan. A coach is willing to sit Melo or anyone on the bench if he doesn't get his act together. JVG, SVG, Thibs, Phill Jackson comes to mind.

2.) Hoping for Melo to sign an ideal contract that will help the team a bit. To bring in the right superstar to play alongside him. Melo CANNOT be option 1 and 2. No star player is going to come here if Melo takes 20+ shots every game. The other star player want shots too. Most players (not named Duncan) are egotistic as hell and there is a pecking order in the locker room. Whoever is star player #2 will want to be on top of the pecking order next to Melo.

You know woodson actually designs those iso plays most of the time right ? His inability to set up different offensive sets is what kills this team. Also hi defensive schemes have the players confused. Axing woodson alone would add this team 10 more wins then they have now

This is exactly why the Knicks haven't fired him yet. They know that if they fire Woodson the interim is going to make the team good thus earning the job permanently. Were looking for a great coach and all the great coaches that could put the Knicks on a championship contending level (a) isn't going to take the job mid-season/doesnt want to escort Woodson out the door OR (b) is currently coaching somewhere else. Then add to the fact that we don't want to paint Melo a "coach killer" and we've gotten ourselves in a real dilemma.
Do we want to fire Woodson to get bounced out the 1st round and have to extend a mediocre HC or a great coach who'll improve our championship chances? Either way hopefully we can win enough games to keep Denver out the top 10

Kyrie Irving really wants out. (Young & has great chemistry with Melo)

Rajon Rondo is gonna be dealt & is expiring, so holds the upper hands vs. his team. (Melo's friend & Melo would love to addition)

Russell Westbrook, like I said weeks ago (s/o THUGGER) isn't that 2nd player Durant needs next to him at this point. 0-3 since his return. (maybe acquiring him in a 3 way with 1 of the players listed above)

1 of these 3 needs to be a Knick come next season, with Melo.

I think its better to just wait it out next year and sign Rondo or Dragic as FA is 2015....

Doesn't matter if we get Durant or Lebron on this team. As long as that guy is GM and that guy is coaching, we will fall short of a title.

I doubt waiting is an option. Knicks are likely to make a big push for Rondo during the draft. Rondo will control where he goes and the Knicks would resign him at a premium.

Knicks need to get a top tier PG and retain enough space to offer a max deal in 2015.

I dont know. However, the Knicks do not need to concern themselves with being a playoff team in 2014. They need to make deals to moves salary and get back trade assets.

Rondo is not a max level player. The 5th year wont make a difference if the Knicks are willing to pay in 4 years what Boston is offering in 5.
