Wow....you got that out of what he said? By value he means public perception which has taken a hit as is. That's why he followed it up with what the rest of the league would think and the Marbury disaster. But I can see you trying to be a smartass about it. Luckily for you it only makes you look either like an idiot or a dumbass

that's classic bno for you
it's sad at this point

Interesting you would say that when other posters that have disagreed with my previous statements have said otherwise. Some have gone far enough to say that Melo will definitely be a 6th man subbing in for Courtney Lee  . Anyway, outside of speculation, Mills actions and statements lean towards excluding certain players from the team moving forward, without actually doing it from a front office perspective. Thus he's relying on Jeff Hornacek to do it, and therein lies my problem.

You think Melo is going to hurt the culture of the team moving forward? Then do something to get rid of him, otherwise play nice and wait for the opt out. The latter being the more acceptable option.

Considering we are not buying Melo out and not trading him for scraps leads me to believe that they know he has value. For everyone that is harping to trade everyone now, you need to see the big picture. Last year was an abomination and all of our players suffered because we were trying to fit a triangle peg into a square hole. This year I can see them adapting to the players in order to get the most out of them and raise their value. I honestly think the FO can care less if we win or lose as long as the players "look" better, which they will by default. Melo will play, he will be featured plenty, and he will be traded at the deadline along with Lee and KOQ. Teams are usually desperate for the simple reason that they have an idea how their season is going and will make a push to improve their teams in order to get a shot at winning it or at the very least make the playoffs. As for trading Melo, it will be much easier to find that third or fourth team when all teams are motivated to make a move at the deadline whether its to buy or sell.

I think we agree on how things should go. I've been posting in response to people that think we should go Marbury on Melo. And I also know Mills is capable of this approach since his was involved in it back then. I just want them to do it different this time. :D

Any Knicks fan should feel the same way. Assuming folks want what's best for the Knicks, they should. That's not the case with everyone. Some just want this to be as embarrassing for Melo as possible.

Great priorities.

We didn't get anything for Marbury and doing that treatment didn't help. We didn't get anything for Tyson. We didn't get anything for Shump. Those two had value and we used them to dump guys. We need to get something back for Melo that's going to help the rebuild.

Ecstatic we are not doing what the last regime did. Please continue to act like a rational organization.

Never been my position. I just want the move to be Jeff Hornacek's choice. I really hope it is or that Melo is traded. Otherwise this will be a mess. Don't sit a player down because he won't waive his NTC and wants to finish out his contract. Sit him down because he's not playing defense or doing the things you expect of him on the court. Professionalism. We should try it for once.

It is Jeffs choice. He's on board with the youth movement. You guys forget that Melo is on the trading block. Jeffs best interest is to keep him healthy too.

It's not because he won't waive the NTC. STOP SAYING THAT! HE'S ON THE BLOCK. HE HAS TO STAY HEALTHY OR WE GET STUCK WITH HIM. WE DON'T WANT HIM. JEFF...PERRY...MILLS....IT IS NOT PUNISHMENT!

IT IS THE LOGICALLY BEST INTERESTS OF THE TEAM AND THE PLAYER AND WHATEVER TEAM WE TRADE HIM TO!

He's done here. He's only here because he won't leave! You DO NOT REWARD THAT WITH PLAYING TIME! LOL

Not a contradiction. It's just another fact. It's not my argument either. It's what you're trying to say is gonna happen. It's not.

I made logical points as to why he shouldn't expect major minutes. I made logical points why NO ONE should want or expect it as well.

You put a player on the trade block 7 months ago. They told him they are moving on and he'd be better off trying to win somewhere else. He's still here. He's only still here because he has a ridiculous 1 team list.

You want to develop a young team and remain flexible to build on that in the future. The player everyone seems to claim is so elite...can't get his one team to offer value. He refuses to go anywhere else. Playoff teams want him. So what is he staying for?

You know what. I'm done. Logic and reason escapes this place. Between this conversation....the DSJ nonsense....the Melo apologists. The Melo bashers. Simple logic is hard to come by around here.

The fans seem to prefer to expect the worst....bash the team...promote the player....wallow in shyt.

I'm excited to see what good comes out of the dust and smoke filled rubble that was Phil Jackson/Melo era. BOTH are over. One just doesn't know when to leave.

I expect Jeff to limit Melos minutes because he knows in the best interests for everyone. I expect Melo to understand his new supporting role here. I hope to see inprovemwnts across the board from last year's youth and I am dying to see this year's youth. I'm hopeful that Jeff proves to be a good coach as well.

Most of all...I hope Melo is gone in an acceptable deal ASAP. I'm done talking about this dude. It's over for me. He needs to go.

Yeah...a most of that wasn't directed at you. Others were quoting me separately. Plus all of the other nonsense. Fans want to fight over things more than root for them together.

I hope Melo is gone. That's all that I care about this summer.

I didn't read through the entire thread to see if this has been discussed yet or not, but it's probably safe to assume that the natural disaster happening in Houston right now will affect any potential Melo trade with the Rockets.

How much damage has the Houston arena and surrounding area endured? Is their front office even functional these days? Will the team have to temporarily move their operations elsewhere this season? Have their priorities now changed in light of the flooding situation? Does Melo still want only Houston now that it's a city completely underwater and will need years to return to normal??

These are all very valid questions all parties involved must be considering in light of what's going on in Texas.

lets be real the hurricane came houston and rockets aren't thinking about melo right now its about the people of houston and everybody thats effected texas storm. The front office rockets aren't going to be thinking melo for least month its non story now because of bigger things effecting houston right now. I also really doubt morey is going to call perry this week about any melo trade ideas it not happening for a while now.

Houston HAS to trade for Melo. It will boost the spirits of the city and spur growth that's necessary to get them through this tough time.
Get the Pelicans involved and finish this up before pre season

The Rockets and the Pelicans are probably the 2 teams with the least amount of tradable assets that would fit what the Knicks need. Houston's package centers around Ryan Anderson. The Pelicans package would have to center around the trio of Solomon Hill, Omer Asik and E'Twuan Moore which might actually be the one package among all NBA teams that would be worse than Ryan Anderson. Both teams are over capped would have to require the Knicks take some combination of these players.

the funny part of this video is that half of it is his team mates missing shots. and people wonder why he only average 2-3 assists per game

But that's his career average. Now explain why several had a higher fg% in the starting lineup with Melo just this past season. There certainly was more dimes to be had.

The video of Melo taking a contested shot with two defenders in his face while an open man stands under the basket would be much longer than this video.

Good Point which is why I gave the and 1

Just saw this

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/20509305/astros-returning-houston-saturday-vs-new-york-mets

so it looks like it will be business as usual in the sports world. I'm sure that chithead Morey has a cell phone.

Regardless of the natural disaster, I think its the same result.

However, very valid point as to whether Melo would still want to go there.
