whats that even supposed to mean?

It means that you need team players who play defense. That's what it means.

yes and you also need stars or you dont win in this league, plain and simple

The Warriors have stars...but they play defense. The Cavs have Lebron (for now) and he plays defense.
What indication do we have that Knox can or will play defense?

Better rebounder, shooter, defender, scorer...pretty much everything which is why he went #3

KnixinSix wrote:Exactly Brooklyn, which is why Mikal is one of the guys im not thrilled with. I get he should be solid, but his upside is limited. The NBA is a stars league and even at 9 i think we need to try to hit a HR. I mean i dont pass on bridges for a guy with upside that has so little chance of reaching his upside, but at 9 I think we have a chance to take a guy with a lot more realistically acheivable upside then Bridges.

Bridges wouldnt be a remote throw for me, but our roster stinks right now, so id rather go for a HR if the players are reasonably close. Dont over draft a guy cause he has upside, but guys like Knox, Young, Sexton, Walker etc just have more star potential. And yes i know this increases your chance you get nothing from this pick, but we have to take that risk!

Michael Beasley was a star too coming into his draft.

Just pointing out young men show flaws but the upside is what matters.

knox has major flaws in his game. i dont see star upside in him either. just seems like a role player at best

If we don't want Mikal we should be able to trade down with Philly for a second asset.
I'd do #9 for #10 and #26 or #38 if we don't really want him.

Did they look deeply into Knox's eyes?

No way we get Doncic with a protected pick.

You want talent you gotta give up value.

And then he turns out to be a SG version of Bargnani and KP leaves / is injured. Watch Memphis get the No 1 pick like Brooklyn / Celdicks

Still think theres a slight chance we can get Wendell. Everybody worried about got needs to STFU. This team needs talent at every position..and we're about to possibly lose both KOQ and Kanter

When we drafted KP and Frank did we look at what they are known for at the moment or what they can potentially be ? Knicks been killing the draft with legit upside players if you ask me.

We knew that they were both intense players who were tenacious on defense. Can anyone say that about Knox?

jstudabaka wrote:People need to stop worrying about moving up in this year's draft. Stand pat, let the upcoming season take its natural course, and this time next year the Knicks won't have to worry about moving up -- I have every bit of confidence they will be bottom of the barrel record-wise and sitting on a top-5 pick, without having had to give anything up or take on bad contracts.

Only reason why anyone should want to move up is b/c one of the best prospects in recent history might be available. Otherwise, I’d be more focused on getting some picks in the teens and trying to find great value there.

Nuh uh Paul George was 6'9 too, and Knox is 6'9 so Knox is guaranteed to become a good defender, overcome his bad motor, start rebounding and start attacking more! Hater fall back! They said Tatum was a bad defender and couldn't attack! Mo Taylor was 6'9 too and he could play power forward!
