So because the Knicks suck and no team is taking them seriously that invalidates anything good the rookies do? What exactly is the bar for a good rookie these days because depending on who the player it it seems to move all over the place.

It’s all context, as I said before, KK projects to be a 3/4th option on the team when taking into account how the roster is built. It’s the same “debate” w THJ. It’s great that he’s scoring bc at least he shows the aggression vs a Frank but he plays no defense and when his touches drop significantly due to being a lower option on a “decent” team, then what? You’re left w a younger THJ. It’s hard to get excited about that unless Pills is going to shop KK and we know that isn’t happening.

KK must get stronger on his moves to the basket, play some semblance of defense bc on a playoff team, he isn’t seeing the floor ala Melo. The efficiency is concerning especially in the context, combined w no defense what so ever.

With Pills’ “plan”, KK pick was rather perplexing bc SGA or someone else would be a much better fit.

You draft BPA unless you have multiple stars in your team.

No one knows how healthy KP will be going forward.

Let’s stop **** on Tatum. He has already proven to be a playoff gamer.

I’m not gonna go that far. I just think some ppl are not impressed with the core we’re building.

I posed the question b/c we should be thrilled they actually let the kids cook and they showed flashes. That’s all you can ask for.

If anyone is forming firm opinions about the core at this point in their development, then they’re not for the rebuild life. Either positive or negative...as there’s just so much more these kids can & need to grow.

Why wouldn't you form an opinion of the player the kid can become when they show you flashes of what they can do at this stage?
