He was always more talented than RJ but he had a terrible motor. If the Hawks can get him to play hard all the time then that sucks for us. Hopefully RJ will develop more skills.

he's really just hitting a bunch of 3s in the video. that's the difference. rj can't shoot.

Cam's shooting has been atrocious both at Duke and this season, he got hot and made some in this game but let's pump the brakes and see if he can sustain that.

I wanted to draft Cam if we dropped to 4th or 5th in the lottery. Was starting to feel stupid for that position but I think I'd still do it, nobody else 4-10 has shown much either

exact numbers RJ is shooting 38.9% and 30.7% from 3 on 3.4 attempts per game, Cam is shooting 36.9% and 31.7% from 3 on 4.2 attempts per game. Both pretty bad. But Cam has a nice form and I always thought the shots would start to fall for him

i meant it as a defense of rj. in that, shooting makes it look better than it is. cam is a more natural shooter. he was always further ahead at that one thing. he shot 40 percent from 3 in january and 34 percent in february. rj shot 35 percent from 3 in january but only 17.5 percent in feb. yikes.

Checked Cam's last games, it's actually impressive. Last 16 games:

14.3 ppg, .45 FG%, .40 3P%, 5+ 3PA

16 games is a considerable sample size...

Yes. He wasn't that good to begin with and the league figured him out.
Then, probably, on top o that, being out of shape and inconsistent minutes.

He was one of the top prospects in his draft. He was going at Steph Curry, Kyrie, John Wall, Kemba, Jrue Holiday, etc his rookie year. He had respect from everybody in the league. Last season he looked promising and pretty much everyone here expected him to break out this season. So I don’t buy that he was not that good.

I also don’t buy that he was out of shape. He came into camp in great shape. Go compare his weight to last year and he actually lost 10-15 lbs.

RJ was one of the "top prospects in the draft" and he's out there looking like Rondae Hollis Jefferson.

Drafts are full of guys who seem "good" but aren't.

They'll both fail for different reasons.

I think RJ is good but is handicapped on this squad. Hopefully we get to see what he can do next year.....

On a team that emphasizes and supports their young players. Shocking.

 I was good with Cam and Herro. No disrespect to RJ, but I wanted to cracks at the board.

I didn't see a lot of disparity after Ja so why not get two guys. Was NOT high on Cam due to motor but I saw the appeal. Garland, Culver, Nas all points of interest for me.

I want multiple stabs at the draft board this year too. My preference would be three incoming youth. Any three that can shoot and pass.

How bout we just develop RJ instead of giving up on him. He has the mindset to want to be great

All he needs is the right people around him and I honestly think he will be great for us. The kid is hungry

Team Hachimura and Nas for me. Seems like I missed on Nas but hit on Rui. At one point I wanted to trade down for Cam too but talked myself into RJ being better

Definitely. This talk about Reddish is less about the player than about the team's ability to play him big minutes throughout his mighty struggles.

I say trade down this year if we can't get Edwards.

It's wholesale though. Atlanta's longer tenured players don't replicate positional need with younger players. Makes it easier on the coach and clearer what to do. There are no Payton situations where you have a player who needs a longer contract competing with rookie contract players.
