Rhodey, I agree with all this. But what do you think is going on? I mean this team preaches about loving the Thibs style, but they play West 4th street ball down the stretch all the time with boneheaded long passes and shots early in the shot, clock. It’s like they are failing at the easiest part of the game, having situational awareness and being energetic.

Just seems like weird symptoms for a Thibs team.

If we continue not at this rate but IMPROVING in what we are currently doing expect the media to start stating the Knicks are legitimate title contenders! I know it’s a stretch to expect that from the media but we keep proving them wrong…Julius is improving from last year and sustaining it, RJ is looking like a beast one on one, Kemba and Rose combo are doing great. The only negative this season is Quickley. He needs to get his shooting right.

RJ should be converting most of you by now. He's a grinder who shows up. The other guy is a fumbler who disappears.

If he was a little more self aware and had a tad less ego he would know when to defer. He's not fully there yet. Forget about squandering the lead. When we had a decent lead - I think we were up by 12pts or something- Chicago missed a shot Julius go the rebound and decides to make this kinda difficult pass cross court to RJ . He botched the pass and overthrows RJ.

Its plays like that where I see the ego and lack of knowing his limitations, knowing the flow of the game. Hes a good passer but dude you aint cp3 or Magic Johnson. That pass was totally unnecessary, we had numbers either way and would have easily gone up by 14 or 15 if he'd had just been smarter or should I say "cooler". He's excitable sometimes.... .

Two seasons ago, I used to make fun of Julius for spinning because he frequently lost the ball. Now it's a signature good move. Also, I used to disprove when he shot contested 3s. But he was good last year shooting 3s even when contested. It's growing pains!!!

I don't discard he started to hit this kind of pass some time from now. But he should select when to try new things. Yesterday's game was not a good game for experiences.

I'll say it again. STOP ISO-ING RANDLE AT THE END OF GAMES! I can't watch that destruction anymore. He panics. Let the game come to him. They just become a different team in the last few minutes lately. No ball movement. Randle backing down in the post is an inevitable turnover too. He just backs into a double or triple team and its too late. Defenses do it all the time now after what ATL did to him. He takes too long to recognize it.

It was like deja vu how the Bulls actually copied the Hawks defense against Randle in the playoffs. It had a similar effect on him too but this time he had more help and we had a 10 point lead most of the game. It's good that the team saw that defense again so early in the season so they have an idea what to expect

It's a good scheme against a post up. Send the double from the baseline on the dribble leaving the corner shooter open. Now Julius can't hit the open man immediately. There should be some action to get that corner out there into Julius' line of sight.

What’s up Knick fans. Congrats on the win. Heaven knows you guys deserved it a heck of a lot more than we did. In fact, by the time we got to the 4th quarter, I was actually preferring that we (Bulls) took the L because we simply didn’t do anything to suggest that we deserved to win. I think the Bulls will be able to take a lot more from this loss than they would’ve had they pulled it out in the end. The Knicks are a strong team and our guys need to know that you can’t half-a** it against good teams and expect to win consistently. So I actually think we will be better off for this one and I expect some real dog fights this season between the two teams.

Julius, to his credit, is finding better passing angles out of that defensive configuration.

He's got things to work on for sure, mainly being able to get his own offense going, but I can see where the film study is translating.

It really is a shame he had that meltdown in the last minute, because he played a solid game, even with some warts.

Where is the path to upgrade the Knicks?

Which position should it happen at or which player?

Let's assume the Knicks are a middle of the pack playoff team right now. Might be a little generous, but just go with that.

Which position/piece/player takes them to the next level.

For instance, I'm a fan of SGA. Find myself hoping that OKC decides to move on from his money after all. Probably not. But other than age, his he THAT much of an upgrade over Rose/Kemba? I mean, next level upgrade?

I know the Knicks have to solve PG long term
RJ is the homegrown draft pick, but he's not a star, not now, maybe never.
Fournier is good, but not dominant.
Mitch is very good defensively but a role player offensively.
There's even an argument for moving Randle for the right guys.

SGA? KAT? Booker? Ignoring that these players are under contract.
I'll pass on Beal.
Dame is a great player but he's 31, gets paid a ton, will cost even more.

I'm going to assume the upgrade happens at the wing and sends Fournier or RJ to 6th man status.

SGA would have to force his way here because there would be plenty of suitors.. but he’s definitely someone I’m willing to trade almost anything for

Me too. But, does he make the Knicks championship contenders?

I dont know. But if we trade the farm for a single player. He is our best option.
