Breaking: Tom Fired

I don't think Leon made this decision in a knee jerk fashion. We heard rumblings that Tom wasn't safe well before the conference finals. I think all of the criticism that has been said about this team since January was also being echoed behind closed doors.

I honestly felt that the wild inconsistency we saw from game to game felt like dysfunction.

We'll find out shortly what was going on..

For sure. I'm not cheering. This guy meant a lot to the franchise and the franchise meant a lot to him.

I believe there are HCs out there that can bring more to this group but we have to get one and it has to work. There's a mountain of work yet to come.

still, everyone who's being honest knows that there was something fundamental that changed this year that had nothing to do with coaching. this year felt different after the changes we made. so go make some more.

There was... but a big part of it was that we still had Thibs and got anti-Thibs players. The personnel philosophy shifted from the coaching philosophy.

I'm glad we got rid of Thibs with the window just opening for the next 3 years. Thibs got the taste of Fizzdale out of our mouths and I'm thankful but we need a coach who tailors our offense and defense to the players we have. If Josh doesn't become a shooter in the summer, he is coming off the bench which Thibs should have realized early this season.

As a Bulls fan, I will say that the grass is not always greener. Our team immediately took a giant step backwards the year after he left. He's not a perfect coach, but in our experience, he was far from the biggest problem even if he was scapegoated to be just that. I like this Knicks team. Hopefully, this proves to be the right move for them. It wasn't for us.

Here's to hoping the Knicks don't make the same mistakes as the Bulls have.

Spo is a pretty interesting idea. Whoft knows why he would want to move physically from Miami to suffer the NYC climate, but .... w/e

However, I do think the Knicks are a much more interesting prospect for him coaching-wise than Miami.

Our climate has significantly change over the past 10 years. We now have a Virginia climate. Our Winters barely have snow now bc its mostly over 32 degrees most of the winter. Our Summers are still hot but our 100% humidity days we use to get in 90s 00s are gone. Global warming changed nyc for the better so much except for these flash rain we get once in a while now. Spo can handle it lol


Also Miami will be under water in 30 years lol Spo dont want his kids living there

Yeah, he loved this sht with everything. It was his true passion and im glad that he was able to live his dream job and taking us to the ecf was one of the greatest experiencing I've had watching this team. his "shortcomings" and "ffailures" lead to his demise here but his overall tenure should be celebrated. He is a knicks legend.

And yeah I hope he finds peace. He fcking deserves it.

But thinking it over a bit more, maybe the new contract last year was his payoff and grateful thanks to him. And they also gave him this season to see if he could make his dream come true. Altogether, he'll be just fine. Do hope they keep him in some capacity.

I'm sure the money helps, but from what I know, it's just Tom and his mom right? No family otherwise and he lived in the gym...

I hope dude is alright. I want to win, I want to see NYC burned to the ground out celebrating a championship, but hey. I hope the man will be alright.

He put his whole life into this, and it's not certain he has anything else left, except his bank account. I really hope he finds something good, but I also feel relieved this has been decided.
