and only because Ive said it before elsewhere so it seems appropriate

Id like to sign Pau as a FA on a 1 yr deal next year and try to convince both Gasol boys to play here

Pau and Marc together would be great and Id love to have especially Marc here

I believe they'd rather stay in MEM. Pau would most likely take a cut to go back where his career started & finish it off with his little bro.

Marc may want to stay in Mem or he may want to go to a major market
Mem may be desirable or they may go cheap again. Hell, do they even want to pay Marc a max deal? Marc and zach and the rest? They haven't shown much desire to spend $ there

I'm sure they'd pick Pau over going cheap especially if it retains Marc. Pau coming should mean no max for Marc & he would likely do that if it meant playing with his brother. Zbo obviously would be moved. They didn't want to pay Gay, rightfully so. Pau/Marc tandem also equates to $$$.

NY's media alone would hurt their chances though.

The same Pau Gasol the Lakers are trying to trade for Bynum's non-guaranteed contact and balking on the deal without the inclusion of Dion Waiters???

I'm sure they'd LOVE to reunite Stat with Nash and D'Antoni while taking on his fully guaranteed contract that expires after NEXT season!!!

They don't have to trade Gasol now or at the deadline, he expires anyway so thy save regardless. CLE thinks saving money for LA would be enough but LA's obviously not shy/low on cash so that isn't enough giving up a 15/20 & 10 guy.

In my eyes this season is lost. My goal was to get rid of the bigger contracts for solid players on more attractive deals that could be flipped or kept (henderson/Marion expiring). Also trade machine doesnt allow the addition of draft pics. Since Carmelo anthony is still in his prime and i would be sending shumpert along with him to charlotte I would ask for both of the first rounders they have this year (1 from detriot, 1 from portland).

From dallas i would try to get one or both of their second round pick possibly with cash considerations

This trade is good for the Cats and puts them in win now mode and a decent balance of offense and defense since MKG will cover for Carmelo. Their lineup would look like this

Kemba
Shump
MKG
Melo
Zeller/Biyimbo

Dallas lineup would look like

Felton
Ellis
Carter
Dirk
Chandler

NY would look like

Calderon/Prigs
Henderson/Hardaway
Marion/ MWP
Bargs/Amare
Big AL

plus 2 first rounders in the '14 draft (both between 15-30) and possible 1 or 2 second rounders from Dallas

The only problem with this scenario is Melo opting out and most likely going to a Big city. So charlotte would be reluctant to give both first rounders.

marion is expiring. Henderson is on a very cap friendly contract and can probably be flipped. The only bad contract would be Calderon.
