I am for this signing.

A scorer off the bench is great for a contender. Sure Jamal has his flaws (defense and shot selection) but he's not going to be asked to play a major role like when we had him before. I can see him being our primary scorer off the bench along with some play at the end of games in certain match-ups.

[quote="Pharmcat "]berman has been spot on [\quote]

He nailed the Grant Hill to the Knicks rumor

If we trade TD for jcraw, I would be very upset... You can't teach an old dog new tricks, and Crawford is still going to put up his ill advised shots at the expense of Melo and STAT's touches

Crawford, Barea, and Williams and I'll be more than satisfied because we then have enough to win the big games.

If Crawford can control his shot selection and we aren't signing him to be a pg, I like this move.

I hope so, but better than 50-50, meh. still a toss up.

and to someone else, yes we probably will still go for barea, we still have our mini-MLE if we can get a S&T for jamal.

but i doubt barea would want to come here anymore. we'd have JC, fields, shump, bibby at the least. not a whole lot of PT left. and that's fine with me, use that mini-mle to bring back shawne and i'd still push for baron

People are being dumb if they don't want the 6th man of the year on this team. Even if you don't like his style, shot selection, defense.. We're too thin to dismiss him based off that with everything else he brings.

Would still need a better true PG, but would be a nice pick up.

Also in that berman article

The Knicks will announce the signing today of another Hawks guard Mike Bibby but view him as a backup.

Trading TD would free up more PG minutes. Bibby is the vet minimum his azz could easily be released and should have no baring. I could see Barea/Crawford/Shumpert sharing 1 minutes with Crawford/fields sharing 2 minutes and fields playing more of his natural 3 as well

Searching the internet for who'd be involved in this J-Craw trade. Can't find anything. Anybody know (as opposed to speculate) any details about who'd be involved from our end?

Ok, everyone, I did math.

Toney Douglas: $1.1 million
Renaldo Balkman: $1.7 million
Bill Walker: $0.9 million
TOTAL: $3.7 million

If sent in a trade to the Hawks for Crawford, Crawford's possible first year salary would be $5.6 million ($3.7 million x 150%).

I think that would be the trade. I also think Crawford could do better in the salary department but maybe he really wants to come back to NY.
