Gay isn't that bad of a player if he doesn't take all the shots. Reason is he's actually a good defender with his athleticism.

Says who? They have a new GM & could go to the complete rebuilding/tank route. Keeping only young players with potential & good contracts like Val, Ross & maybe Lowry.

Even if new management want to deal him, his value is about as low as it has been so they shouldn't deal him now. Wait until the deadline or next offseason once he has hopefully put up some numbers and looks more attractive.

I am not against taking a shot at Bargnani if nothing else is available. Not for Camby though. That is crazy talk. I'd do Novak+Camby. Works under checker. Saves serious money to Toronto. Doubtful that we will engage with Toronto given we are in the same division.

Did he play like a true C in the playoffs?

There you go.

It's not what he was, but what he is.

Yes he did

Bargnani is quoted as saying " I play Basketball, not Rebound Ball"

It takes a lot of balls, and significantly less brains, to say this when you are clamoring for Bargnani.

Raptors plan is to build off Gay and DeRozan. They would trade Lowery before Gay or DeRozan.

Our defense takes a massive hit, but the offense improves a decent notch.

The other two are a wash at best.

Toronto might do this since they'd be trading two overpaid players mainly the longer deal in Derozan, so in essence they are trading Derozan for Shump, but they gain a guy who wont play much at all.

it helps them financially for sure.

I might consider, derozan is a good guard, needs to get his defense in order.

The thing is Tyson is no longer good at the things he's supposed to be good at (rebounding and shot blocking), he didn't even challenge shots anymore, encouraging opposing players to drive to the rim.

If he remains bad at scoring, then he doesn't have one thing he's good at.

The point is Barg is at least good about one thing: scoring. When he's on, few can stop him. He had a down year, but he's still young. A little tough love from Woody, and a little legit scoring help from Melo should help bring his cock out.

When Bargs is on he hits less than half his shots and it wasn't just one year, it's been three.

He'll also be 28 by camp starting, so he is what he is at this point.

Removing Tyson for Bargs is a pretty silly trade.

the notion that Tyson is "no longer good" after a bad stretch is exaggeration. he had a very solid start to the season. he was an all-star for a reason. felton's injury resulted us using him less and less on the offensive end and his own injuries resulted him decline on defense too. for all I know, Tyson can easily come back as the previous season Tyson next season. would be incredibly stupid to give him up for a bust like Bargnani.

You only trade Tyson if you can get that second scorer Melo wants.

The thought of trading Tyson for Bargiani is stupid. Hibbert would go for 20 and 20 every night, if Bargiani was to guard him.
