exactly this isn't dantoni's spread the floor offense. Its the triangle. Melo can score from anywhere and he can play in the post, in the corner. ON the weak side. That is how good he is, he can score from anywhere.

Dantoni's system requires his 3 and 4 guys to be in the corner beyond the arc.

Are people still forgetting that Anthony played in Denver for George Karl and one of the fastest paced offenses in the NBA? Anthony didn't dribble the clock out, he didn't hog the ball incessantly and he didn't take forever to shoot then. There is life before and outside of NY guys.

But yet him and Karl still had their issues. it's funny how I read for years people bashing Karl now all of a sudden people are praising his system for making helping Melo as a player. Please

People bash Karl because he has a history of feuding with players & because Karl wanted Melo to play a hoosiers style of basketball.

Let's keep it 100 what all of us are saying has been said 10's of 100's of times. Stop acting dumb like you don't know Melo has played team basketball or is capable of playing without the basketball.

The issue becomes who plays C on a roster containing the both of them, and if Melo really is going to subject himself to the pounding of playing the 4 spot for multiple years. Battier banged himself up to the point where he couldn't play meaningful basketball anymore.

Pau Gasol would obviously come. Come back and play for his coach who he admires in Phil with the triangle and with two of the best players in the world to win some more chips.

And are you comparing a 35 year old at the end of his career battier to playing the 4, to a in his prime 30 year old Melo?

Melo played the 4 for the entire year and he had some of his best career #'s there, both offensively and defensively.

Yep it was less than the year before. Up until 2012-2013, the most percentage of court time Anthony spent on PF was 26% (his first year with the Knicks). In 2012-2013 Anthony spent 72% of this time at the PF position (and 3% at C...the first time in his career he's ever played that position). That was Woodson's infamous "small ball" lineup. Last season, with Bargnani added to the roster and Woodson moving in and out of the "small ball" lineup Anthony spent only 62% of this time at PF. I would imagine that he would spent a lot less time at PF in the Triangle since traditionally the Triangle PF is focused primarily on defense, rebounding and setting screens. With the Triangle's heavy reliance on an offensive heavy wing I'd imagine that's what Anthony will be...back to SF.

Agreed. But then again, between LeBron and Melo, who will benefit more from the wing position? It's really a catch 22 scenario because having LeBron and Melo at either forward positions have plenty of strengths and little weaknesses. Even more so if the thought was to have Melo at the 2 guard.

George Karl relied on Anthony to be THE MAN in his up tempo system. In fact his offensive centric system was developed with Anthony as the centerpiece. Karl's "issues" with Anthony happened started when Anthony wanted out of Denver and continued when he managed to get his way in a move to NY. And who is praising Karl? Please what? How the **** does saying that Anthony has played in an uptempo system equal to praising Karl????? Stop reading into things you want to read and try instead to actually understand. Mike D'antoni had an uptempo system here as well and no one is complementing him either. Anthony can play uptempo. He did it for the first 7 years of his career. What is so hard to understand? Tell me.
