I feel like we'd only have like another 20 million to spend next year if we bring in Lonzo this year. That's why if we're forced to take Love's money in a salary dump, I'd do the Lonzo move this year cuz unless we want to stretch Love, there isn't max money left over. On the other hand, no Love I'd wait until next summer and make a move for Lavine.

We struggled to get buckets because we played 3 starters that couldn't shoot a spot up standstill 3. We started a PG who the opposing defense completely ignored when he both had and didn't have the ball.

Sexton is an on ball, pound it and chuck player. He's Monte Ellis, Dion Waiters etc.. We need a Cam Johnson, or a Bridges or a Duncan Robinson who can keep the floor spread.

... assuming we're keeping and starting RJ Barrett and Randle.

But Sexton can shoot and create his own shot. We could use a Cam, Duncan or Bridges AFTER we get someone like Sexton who can penetrate, shoot and draw defenses.

What is RJ going to do? or Randle? Unless something changes having those 2 just stand around watching Sexton chuck isn't getting us anywhere. Sexton doesn't pass. We need a player who defenses respect enough to guard in a pick and roll. Players that you can just go under on every time and laugh if they shoot a 3 are kind of useless, like Payton. Sexton is just Austin Rivers with new paint. **** him.

I'd be content with a Lowry and Sexton backcourt next to RJ, Randle, and Mitch. A bit undersized in the backcourt but both guys are dogs and would battle the way Thibs likes. They'd also get RJ, Randle, and Mitch lots of easy shots.

Not saying Obi is going to be a superstar.

But he put up 13 points per36 on 57% TS% and consistently got better on both ends of the floor throughout the season (having a little breakout in the playoffs)

Obi isn’t Frank or Knox. I’m not against trading him for Sexton, but we shouldn’t use him just as a throw in when he has definitely shown potential.

Obi would be the centerpiece of the trade going to the Cavs. That’s far from being considered a throw in. Most are fine with him going because:

1. He won’t get opportunity here with Randle being the clear #1 PF
2. We get a younger player with star potential that can take us to the next step

No, I'm just citing the archetype of a knock down shooter. $12-15 million sure. I think Miami might get backed into a corner and end up paying him $18-20.
