Yeah, that's not why lost though. The only answer was to take the ball out of Kyrie's hands and make everyone else try and beat us. We waited until the last three minutes of the game to do so. It almost worked. Who knew?

I remain skeptical. If the refs made consistent calls all game for both sides for sure we would have done better. Taking the ball out of Kyries hands early would have meant open shots for the other guys who were raining 3's in the early moments of the game. Hardaway, Hardy, Williams, Green - they all came out on fire. Once they cooled off perhaps then... but out of the gate we'd have been down by 40.

Yeah. Don't use the proof we saw happen live to base anything on. Die on the hill that the refs fixed the game.

There wasn't any hate. In fact, it was very much a debated topic here on who the better player was. I know I've said quite a few times that I thought RJ was the better rounded player then OG. On my end, I saw RJ in the playoffs and I saw something transformative. He brought that into the FIBA league. And I was expecting a bona fide breakout this season. And it was looking that way until he took a game or so off due to his knee.

As far as fleecing? Honestly I thought the Knicks (Leon Rose actually) gave up more than fair market value for OG and the other two guys. Talking at the time of the trade.

Butler (in Philly) have been traded for expiring, a rookie and a scrub and just one 2nd rounder (Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick).

Paul George (in OKC) for Oladipo and Sabonis (the latter was just one year into the league and a backup to Adams)

I like RJ and he's doing fine but he's a big contract who has had some good highs and some low lows. The other guy is another big contract in waiting who has never started or performed in the playoffs, and who is not really a PG. I don't know that the two amount to a lot of compensation. The Detroit second is nice.

Probably not the right thread but whoever is the brains behind the trade (Rosas?) and is the Shadow GM. Dolan needs to keep that person forever.

Was Rosas onboard when we signed Brunson?

You would know. Too bad the Knicks didn't double Kyrie sooner. They could have won that game. Think about that when you put your tinfoil hat on later.

I don't think Rosas was onboard for Brunson, but I'll check.

https://theknickswall.com/knicks-bring-gersson-rosas-out-of-shadows/

The above article (from Sept 23) states the Knicks brought on Gerson last February. So, February 2022.

Brunson signs June 2022
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34174978/sources-dallas-mavericks-informed-jalen-brunson-intends-sign-new-york-knicks

Rosas was onboard as a consultant

Except when we did it it worked. We just waited too long to do it. So take the L because that's why we lost the game. You're like a child. You're wrong. It's over. Go away now.m

It worked for 3 minutes. 3 minutes where for the first two Dallas likely had their guard down. Never the less, 3 minutes is nothing.

The only fact-based argument you have is "What we did didn't seem to work" which I counter with "Dallas made some high degree of difficulty shots" and "many questionable calls" during our runs.
There were other 3 minute stretches I could cherry pick where we outperformed the double-kyrie bit, but again not entirely relevant.
