There is no question Favors is much more valuable--even if you're only considering contracts--than Gallo. The QO is simply the offer that Denver has to extend to retain Chandler's restricted free agency rights. Then, and almost certainly, another team will sign him to an offer sheet to whatever $9-11 mm and Denver will have to match in order to keep him. Gallo simply gives them the savings next year and who knows if he'll ever be that valuable on the open market.

Thanks for the explanation and the civility.

My original point is would denver sacrifice the present perceived talent of Chandler for the savings of one year in Gallinari's contract. That's not too say they aren't going to get a lot of relief in Curry's expiring or a collection of Knick expiring's. I just don't see them not wanting to give the fans of denver a winning product and a little hope. I lived in denver and they take pride in all of their franchises. It's a pretty rabid sports town.
