With the 242nd Pick in the BAT 7.0 Draft the Detroit Pistons Select...

RICK CARLISLE

A championship caliber team needs a championship caliber head coach to lead them and there's none better out there left than Rick Carlisle. One of the greatest coaches in the NBA today, Carlisle has learned from some of the best coaches in the history of the NBA and has won both Coach of the Year and an NBA Championship (2011 with the Mavericks).

Carlisle's ability to adjust his system to the players and maximize their capabilities is a perfect fit for this talent loaded team. His ability to motivate, to have his team execute and maintain a champions heart will help take this team to the next step. We are extremely happy to welcome him him back to the roots of where his mentor Chuck Daly went down in history as one of the greatest coaches ever. We expect Rick to do the same.

***Best coach left...no reason to wait and risk getting stuck with average coaches.***

Damn RJ was my pick... I was trying to trade up since 229 to select him.. just thought he was great value. So pissed 2k2 stole Meka and RJ right from under me.

Anyway, screw it. With pick 244, the timberwolves take this guy..

Greg Oden come on down.

Bring on the hate fellas.

Bobcats select C, Kosta Koufos with pick #251.

We add another young big man who is coming off an excellent year averaging 6/6/1/60% in limited minutes in 50 games this year.

We really feel like we have an assortment of Big men who are young and athletic who can rebound the ball and compliment each others game. Koufos (age 23) just adds to this mixture that coach Doug Collins has to work with.

Jan Vesely!

#6 overall pick in last years draft.. 6'11, and put up some very efficient numbers in limited minutes during his rookie year. Should fit in nicely with my young squad.

With the 255th pick the Philadelphia 76ers select Nikola Vucevic
Image

5.5 PPG 4.8 RPG 0.7 BPG 15.9 MPG

A true 7 footer Vucevic will be a big body who can clog the paint and control the glass. He also has a very soft touch around the rim and at 21 still has a lot of potential.

With the (skipped) 254th Pick in the BAT 7.0 Draft the Detroit Pistons Select...

Gustavo Ayon

This big man filled in admirably for the Hornets this past season when they were hit with the injury bug.

The Detroit Pistons are thrilled to be able to acquire this young and talented 26 year old former star of the Spanish Premier League and the Mexican national team who, despite a language barrier, was able to establish himself as one of the best first year big man in the NBA this past season.

A very athletic and physical 6'11" 250lb player with a gigantic 7'3" wingspan and huge hands, Ayon has shown the type of toughness and grit that the Pistons of old were built on.

An extremely intelligent player, a tenacious rebounder and an aggressive defender in both man-on-man and help defense Ayon can more than handle himself on the defensive end. Offensively, Ayon has shown a diverse set of skills that include being a terrific passing big but also an innate ability to score from the perimeter as well as being able to put the ball on the floor and beat his man to the basket with a few dribbles.

His years of experience as a starter and a star with one of the top teams in Spain gives the Pistons a young player that doesn't need to learn from scratch, someone that we feel, once he breaks the language barrier will indeed prove himself to be one of the top young big men in the game...especially considering who he'll have teaching him and who he will be going up against every workout and every practice.

Ayon will be penciled in to backup both the PF (his more natural position) and the C position (where, as a starter this past season, he averaged 9.7ppg, 9.3rpg, 4.0apg, 2.0spg, 1.3bpg).
