Gonna be honest. I have heard inside stories involving Dwight...

I wouldn't be shocked if he directly told that kid where he was going last season. From the stories I know, he is as much of a clown as we all think he is.

Spill it dude its late and I want to believe lol.

Blindfold free-throw contest with Rockets employees who were not blindfolded. If he lost, he would give the employee money. Not sure the employee had to give anything.

Random bets with Employees for money, usually involving something they have to do that is difficult to achieve, i.e. making it to a destination in certain amount of time that is miles away by foot.

He actually sounds like a lot of fun, but he is certainly a clown.

P.S. he won the free-throw contest (blindfolded).

thats the source?

dont see why Melo would go to LA without Lebron. Hell be in the same exact situation he is here just on an opposite coast.

Melo can finally play for fun without the burden of fan expectations. He can smile and laugh it up on the court, chill on D, take turns chucking it up 25 times/game - which is what his heart truly wants to do, freely and without consequences. LA is a big market, but it's a lower pressure one. They have tradition there, but the fans aren't really that passionate.

His wife will have plenty of TV and film opportunities.

Really? Lakers are the winningest franchise there is ... 16 titles, 34 finals appearances, finals every decade, and 7 trips with 5 rings this millennium. LA is basketball first, unlike anywhere else, and the fans expect and have a history of winning, relevance, and stars unlike anywhere else. They just made 100mil in a losing year where they had damn good attendance for Swaggy P's Lakers ... Its insulting to say laker fans don't have expectations and aren't loyal, hell they topped the clippers in terms of viewership to boot last year with those cast offs bruh

Yep, free country, and didn't insult or bait anyone ... Its silly to say the lakers and Los Angeles aren't the Mecca of nba basketball in the history of the league, even more insulting to a guy who hasn't missed a game since 96 to read we aren't passionate

This forum needs to stop being Nazis with any opposing fan that comes here for a discussion. Not everyone is here to troll. Most people aren't, actually.

At this point I'd be relieved if he signed with Chicago and got us some assets. Carmelo hasn't been able to attract other players to sign with the Knicks. He won't do it next year on a max contract either. Just another Kobe. ....

Well, we're insulting them. Fuq the Lakers and Fuq LA. You ain't the Mecca cause you will never be NY.... And half your fan base started rooting for the Clippers.

Have fun with the West coast Jimmy Dolan running your team.

Man I don't know how that guy could say something so ignorant, just ignore him i guess.

Even though I don't care about LA but that was just over the line and pure stupidity.

Last years lakers were more watched than last years clippers in la despised needing to pay 7 bucks for the feed.

Jim's made mistakes, but he and Jeanie are at least working together and learning to be a united front. They stumbled, time to see them correct it all, and its a step Melo or no Melo for them to approach Melo and Bron as a united front with Mitch and Kobe. They will probably never be their dad like Mitch will never be west, but hey as long as the team stays relevant I'm happy.

I respect that. I wouldn't be mad at Melo anyhow. I like watching him play, always have dating back to college. Bron is a great talent, but I can't lie, it would take some stomaching at first to he grew on me. Anyway it goes I think Phil will reset ny and make a good team as long as isn't stepped on and rushed.

It happens, we lost Howard last year even though he was only with us for a year. Hopefully you guys can rebound from this and get the #1 pick and land Jahlil Okafor in the draft next year.

This kid was a good source with the Dwight to the Rockets info...he has not been wrong yet and I do believe a Lakers source told him that but unless it comes from Melo himself idk

C'mon, he's a little spoiled rich kid running around like a groupie, passing off generic conversation as breaking news.

He tweeted this last November 26th, and I'd bet it's the same source now. No one knew for sure back then, so the source/kid is just doubling down now that it's closer:

Arye Abraham

According to my sources, Its a long shot, but if the Knicks DO NOT make the playoffs, Carmelo WILL leave New York.

You guys think Silver does anything about this?

It's an odd situation.

Not the Melo stuff but the Knicks and Lakers. Two team Presidents are...together. That's unprecedented...at least publicly.(Morey gets too many questionable favors from Hinkie.)
I doubt there is any type of provision for such a thing.

The nba is a boys club so I doubt they ever expected a woman to be at the top of the food chain. Jeanie was a shock but she does now have veto power officially over the lakers when it comes to everything basketball and business as she's stated.

Here's what I find funny though, Melo is enticed by the LA atmosphere and culture of winning. Cool I get that.

But I hope he realizes that they didn't do anything in the 90's, that was dominated by the Bulls and...Phil Jordan.
The Lakers shot back to relevance and owned the early 2000's with....Phil Kobe.
All 5 of those championships were because of Shaq/Kobe/Phil or Kobe/Phil.

But now, Phil is in NY trying to put together a similar team to build around Melo. New idea, TRADE FOR KOBE.

Return to New York Knicks
