Very unlikely scenario, but what do you guys think?
Knicks Trade: Melo, Lee
Lakers Trade Mosgov, Deng,Clarkson, No.2 Pick

With the rumor of Lebron coming in 2018, Lakers lay the groundwork by clearing cap and signing CP3.
Starting Lineup- CP3/Russell/Lee/Melo/Randle; playoff bound

Knicks rebuild around KP and WHG with the No.2 and No. 8 picks. No cap room for the next 3 seasons but all bad contracts will expire the same time.
Starting Lineup Potentially: DSJR/Clarkson/Jackson/KP/WHG

How about this trade between the Cavs, Knicks and Nuggets.

CAVS trade: Kevin Love, Richard Jefferson, Iman Shumpert, 1st round
CAVS receive: Courtney Lee, Melo, Kyle O'Qquinn and Wilson Chandler

Knicks Trade: Melo, Courntey Lee, Kyle O'Quinn, Kuz
Knicks Receive: Juancho Hermangomez, Gary Harris, Kenneth Faried, Channging Frye, First round pick from the Cavs, Possible 13th overall pick from the Nuggets(?)

Nuggets trade: Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Gary Harris, Juancho
Nuggets receive: Kevin Love, Shumpert, Jefferson, Kuz

Why for the Cavs? The Cavs receive Melo, who will make LeBron happy and provides an additional ball handler who can create shots for himself and for others. Lee, Chandler and O'Quinn gives the Cavs depth which they lacked in this finals. Can you imagine a lineup where you have a more consistent 2guard in Lee who provides shooting and plays defense, it also allows the Cavs to push JR on the bench. Wilson Chandler is better than RJ and he can play defense and score.

Why for the Knicks? The Knicks get two quality young players in Juancho and Gary Harris. Gary Harris is a two guard that can shoot and play some defense. Juancho is a stretch 4 that can rebound and fits with Porzingis. The Knicks take on the salary of Faried and Frye, but those players can be filled to other teams. Frye alone will most likely be coveted by a team like the Clippers, the Wizards, Thunder(who needs shooting), and possibly Philly(who needs lots of shooting and to meet the salary floor, maybe for one of their 2nd round picks).

Why for the Nuggets? They get Kevin Love. AND Yes Kevin Love and Jokic would be a terrible fit DEFENSIVELY but their fit Offensively would be insane. They know they're not going to win the championship anytime soon but they want to make the playoffs which I believe Kevin Love will help them to do. Offensively they'll be really exciting and that will great a buzz around. They get a 2guard that can defend and replace the lost of Gary Harris. Kuz is a cheap bench piece to replace some of the depth they lost. They will also have enough money to resign Gallo and possibly get a PG.

It's a great trade and I'd sign up for it. But, I don't think the Cavs can trade their 1st yet.

It won't be a first one pick this year has they already traded it away. It would be 1st in 2021. We would receive the first round pick from the Nuggets this year which is 13th. We can pick Frank at 8th and Donovan Mitchell at 13th. We will then have a guard rotation of Frank, Mitchell, Gary Harris; all play defense, can play off ball and shoot.

I can't stay away from this train Wreck but are the Knicks really considering moving a first round pick for moving Melo? Is this true or just speculation ? I heard the Knicks are trying to get another first round pick... is the reason I am concerned

Lakers are listening offers for 2nd pick. I would give them Melo for the pick plus their salary dump for sure.

I would do Melo + #8 for the 2nd pick in a heartbeat. Plus taking their salary dumps.

CP3 meeting with 4 teams, 3 of which have no interest in Melo.

Seems like playing with Melo is low on his list of priorities.

If CP3 goes to Denver, I could see Melo wanting to get traded there. It wouldn't take a whole lot for the Nuggets to trade for Melo.

That relationship is over. There's a better chance that Matt Barnes gets back together with Gloria Govan than Melo going back to the Nuggets.

Oh man

If only

But the truth is we're actually taking on two terrible contracts, worse than Melos

If not for the #2 overall I would laugh it off

Clarkson, Jackson and either frank or dsj would be an exciting change. That's for sure

Some sort of combination of Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, and Darrell Arthur would get it done though.

That's a nightmare trade

Have you even looked at the contracts of deng and mozgov?
They are historically bad

So what? You got your core of KP + #2 for the future. They will be around far longer than those crap contracts are on the books.

No it wouldn't. We'd have to attach KP to get them to take Melo back.
