I think Wojina still hates the Knicks and I think Morey is more or less desperate for Melo. If they wait and go into camp with a major piece missing, then their chances of beating the Warriors goes down. If they wait we can trade him to the Cavs.

So, Melo aside, you wouldn't take on Anderson for TWO 1st round picks right now?
It has nothing to do with Melo. That deal is horrible. We need more than just two low picks to take it on.
And then throw in the fact that we're giving them a legit 3rd superstar ... they should be giving us at least 5 first round picks!
idk man, where do you think we can get just value for him then? cause there are only 2 teams on his list.
I never said 5 first round picks; I've always said I wanted fair value. That's it. Value for Melo is a first (or a young player with potential) and matching deals. The value for taking on Anderson's contract is 2 firsts and then some. It's not one or the other, it's both. We're giving them a better player on a more cap friendly deal while taking on a horrible contract.

If Melo is sent home all season, I won't lose a wink of sleep. Thanks for wanting to be a Knick but no thanks for staring at loose balls. Melo can just as easily watch guys shoot and stare at loose balls from his TV room in his mansion.
He'll get to see more passing and D this way too.

Watching other guys shoot will be the last straw for Melo

I've always thought this was fake solely for the random, mid-hysteria attempt to pacify his anger by putting the remote up his ass.

So if the value for taking Anderson is TWO 1sts and then some, and the value for Melo is a 1st, then they should be giving us at least THREE 1st round picks and then some (like Gordon).
I have to say, I don't see the Rockets doing that. I don't see any team giving up that many first round picks for a 32 year old "superstar". We're not trading with Prokhorov here.
The only other option becomes Cleveland, and it doesn't sound like they're too interested right now. Even if they were, their picks would arguably be less valuable than Houston's. I would take Love though because he has the most value out of anyone we can get for Melo. We could also build his value up here with a run & gun system where he just puts up crazy numbers with KP. He'd also be a good mentor for the big men.

Re: Melo Trade Thread - Sorry Melo, these are the breaks
I'll say it again and keep saying it: there's a difference between (1) benching Melo (punishment) and (2) asking Melo to come off the bench as a sixth man (a really good solution). If I'm Mills or the new guy that's how I pitch it:
"We could not find a good enough deal for you that would not hurt the franchise in an honest effort to trade you to your desired destination. This is a new era and we can't change the past or how you were treated. But we think it would work out best for all if you allow the team to move forward in developing the young players we now have while you continue to play *your* game, something you will have the freedom to do 28 minutes a night off the bench. You still get your touches and your shots and your points but in a different role. And you get to stay in New York without the headache of moving or being away from your son."
A reasonable professional adult man would take a long look at this scenario, check his ego, accept the reality of the situation and make the compromise.

They'd be getting someone who brings them closer to the WCF (not finals, because that team has no chance against GSW) and they'd be getting out from under a horrible contract. Sure, odds are they won't do it because Morey always likes winning the deals he makes, but this should be looked at as two separate deals IF we are dumb enough to take on Anderson - 1) Houston getting Melo and 2) Houston getting rid of Anderson's contract. I wouldn't take Love either - I'd look to reroute him to a third team for picks/assets.

C'mon I didn't say that SH*T! Add in a 1st and that'll sound like something I might of said. MPHARRIS Dan Patrick hit me with the "C's targeting Lee" early this AM - so I started a riot on here.
Dude you cant spew stuff and think its okay. Your first Rumor was D Russ to the knicks as part of the Melo deal and he wasn't even eligible to get traded as yet. It is what it is. You're a fraud (source wise). Stop trying to be a real gm hero.
D Russ is eligible for trade in less than a month. This was back when a 4 team deal seemed imminent. Don't play yourself trying too hard to paint me as some fraud. I just post the **** I hear about - which is always only Knicks related because the guy knows I'm a die hard fan. I don't wanna be a source. I just wanna participate in discussions. Stop worrying about my credibility - if you don't wanna believe me then don't fool. C's will acquire Lee and you'll have to eat your foot - watch. My source is legit it's just not really reliable because the guy just hits me with **** at random. Idk where he's getting info from. If yall arent interested in hearing about it (which most of you seem livid over) then I will just keep it to myself like I've done the last 3 years before discovering this forum.
K P 6 I will say this though.. You are strapped on and riding my d*ck like you are in a paid training program for inexperienced d*ck riders trying to get promoted.
He caught me red handed trying to get my Broussard on and make a fake tweet, even quoted the post with my bad imbed and told me I failed before I could edit it...I admitted and got a good laugh. KP6 is a sleuth, that's just what he does, don't take it personal
This is a thread for a Melo trade. As far as I know, there isn't a concrete one that we are aware of, so everything is a rumor, and talking about them pushes the conversation forward and makes for interesting discussion...that's the point of this thread right? Don't get worked up over it man, do you.

The Knicks are not obligated to explain their dealings with him. melo only has the right to veto a trade.

They don't even have a gm to negotiate with.
