We're getting a comp pick to replace one of them.

The deal is still a headscratcher, but it doesn't cripple our draft

How are we getting a comp pick? The formula is a total offseason accumulation. I doubt we get a comp pick on 2021 for Williams since we have 80 m potential in spacing and will probably is about 50 of it

We're most likely getting a 3rd rounder for losing Landon

I wasn't a fan of the hire tbh. But I'm a little sold after that presser lol. He seems like a confident a guy, but reminds me of something like a young Coughlin would be.

He got damn, he absolutely dominated that room lol. I'd be scared to ask a question.

Yeah but that has nothing to do with it. Landon and Leonard are two mutually exclusive situations. We would have had 2 3rd rounders then.

Also the comp pick is like in the 100’s and the pick we traded is 68. So it’s hardly a replace situation.

It’s one of the worst trades I can ever remember just off the purpose there is no valid explanation to make that move.

I'm not saying that one has anything to do with the other. I'm saying in terms of draft picks, it's more like we swapped 3rd round picks and traded a 4th for Williams, not traded 2 picks.

That is probably how Gettleman factored in the cost of the trade.

But when you could have just signed Leonard Williams in the offseason without giving up any picks that point gets debunked immediately.

It didn’t need to be an either or. And his reasoning was they got “information” about him wanting to resign.

Gettleman factoring on stupidness in his decision making.

You don’t give up a premium pick for “information”

I'm not saying it was a good trade. I'm just saying that Judge and Getty will still be able to make a pick in the third round.

Nothing more

I mean yes that part is a fact.

But we could also swap first round picks with the patriots for no reason. We still be picking on the 1st round but both picks aren’t the same.

i've changed my mind, trading down would be a silly move. you draft isiah simmons with the 4th pick, especially when joe judge preached versatility and patrick graham loves moving players around.

Sure he will.

Both the Dolphins and the Chargers need a QB.

You could easily trade down to 6 and still get Simmons.

The only way he's not there is if the Lions take him.

There is no reason to not extract an asset from one of those teams in this draft.

thats not accurate off one game. QB's are still what teams trade up for. You have QB hungry teams picking behind you. You get draft capital.

No argument there. I love Simmons.

Especially since I think you can get an OT like Austin Jones in the 2nd rd

i love simmons too but I have not seen one mock for him getting picked inside the top 5...there is too much value up there from the QB position most likely With Burrow and Chase Young going 1-2.

Trade down and picking simmons right now is my #1 option

That's why #4's only real value is to rob the Dolphins or Chargers.

Especially once Tua starts releasing those healthy workout vids

Anybody have any insight into Patrick Graham? I can't really make any sense of why they would pick Miami's D-Coordinator out of all of the coordinators out there. Did they sort on defensive stats the wrong way? I can see how that could be confusing... :banghead:
