Some people actually thinking our front office went into this year thinking they were winning, heck they didn’t even think at the deadline they were going to win..

Such a stupid move. Stick with what got you here. People going insane trying to throw out STUPID stats and analytics claiming how GREAT the Knicks would be if they just stopped starting Payton. We all saw how much that was stopping us from being successful. IT WASNT. So Thibs get's an F- for listening to the media/fans.
Other than that, though, Thibs doesn't play on the court. If your two best players suck up the joint, there's not much you can do as a coach. But I'm sure this PG is gonna be filled with people blaming Thibs.
Problem wasn’t Thibs. It was Payton, not buying in and playing so poorly that Thibs had no choice to make an adjustments. If Payton could have played to just below average with hard defense we could have managed his minutes. But he completely gave up on the team.
Thibs started Rose and played the whole 2nd half in game 2. That’s the only reason we won. He played the most minutes of any of our players this series over Randle. The obvious answer was to put in Frank, but you know Thibs wouldn’t do that. It is what it is

If Embiid doesn't play I could see the Hawks winning the series. F it, I'll root for the Hawks, it will make our loss to them seem less bad.

Yeah I will say.. Randle gotta learn to stfu sometime if you know your game ain’t about that life lol. This series was a horrid look for him

This, this, and THIS.
Trading for Rose just show's how shortsighted our front office is. This draft potentially has 5 stars (minimum) in it, and we decide to make a trade so MAYBE we could get past the first round of the playoffs. Such as typical Knicks front office move. We'll miss out on these players, then see them start to bloom as stars in the league... but at least we got completely embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. It was so great to get that playoff experience!! We can build off of this!! Yeah, okay. As Minnesota adds to their deep talent pool with Ant, and maybe Cade or Suggs, we were happy to get into the first round of the playoffs. Typical Knicks.
it's actually silly to think we know exactly how many stars are in this draft. you know at least one of those dudes is going to be a bust if not more than one and that's who the knicks would have got. meanwhile there will be some steals later in the draft like there always is in every draft.
Did you see the word 'potentially' in there? And yes, all experts agree (and people with college bball knowledge on here) that this is one of the better drafts in a long time.
Although I do agree that there is ALWAYS a potential for busts. But, we're only talking about the top 5. In my opinion, there are several more players in the draft that have a chance to be really, really good. We'll see what happens. Either way it was a mistake to trade for Rose. Not sure how anyone could argue against that at this point. I'm not saying you are, robil

The Knicks really played only one good half of basketball in this 5-game series.
We were outmatched, out-talented, and outcoached. It was never close.
Also put some respect on McMillan's name.
They were never as good as those super fun moments in the regular season felt, but they also aren't as bad as they looked in this series.
Even with such a horrific playoff showing, this Knicks team is miles better than anyone expected heading into this season - not just in terms of of their record, but their actual play and production. Randle was most often mentioned as a salary dump 9 months ago. RJ had talent, but was coming off an absolutely brutal shooting rookie season. Nobody except Mitch and Frank was expected to play a lick of defense. Even the most optimistic fans were stoked on some level that there were 3-4 legit top prospects in the coming draft because we were realistically expecting a terrible year.
They could have beaten the Hawks if they continued with their regular season production, but while I hoped for it and tried to talk myself into it, that was never probable to me. It sucks big time that they only gave us maybe 15 total minutes out of the 240 played this postseason of the great ball we saw frequently during the regular season, but this team just isn't that good for me personally to have expected it into the playoffs.
I'm curious and cautiously optimistic about what happens this offseason. There are pieces to play with and build on for the first time in a while. Hopefully they can get back to the same place next year, but be better vetted and prepared.
I'm with you bro.
I never expected them to beat the Hawks. I feared this would be a quick series.
As you said, it'll be interesting to see what happens this offseason. They have to make a move, but I hope they stay reasonable.

I guess at least he gets to f*ck her when the mailman etc doesn't. That's worth it.

Stop lying. The Knicks aren't a treadmill team whose sole focus was making the playoffs this year. They *are* building something and have the clear flexibility to do so across the board, which you either choose to ignore or are far too ignorant to understand.

I'm on record saying we should have started Frank. Taking Rose out of the 2nd group literally killed us (besides our franchise player).
That being said, didnt we win 9 in a row with Payton starting?? And it's not about Payton, it's about continuity. Payton sucks.
