no lineup variations, very few defensive scheme adjustments throughout the year.
For the next coach, winning in the regular season is important. But trying to find different variations to maximize the roster and rotations will be even more important.
So that when the time comes in the playoffs we aren't switching up schemes and lineups with no experience.

On the points that Mook brought up, I really am starting to come around to the idea that Jenkins emerges as a strong candidate.
- Engages the bench
- Brings youthful energy/ideas
- Accomplished a lot through being unafraid to experiment
Can he handle NY coming up through San Antionio, ATL and MIL? That's the big question, but he's not going to get railroaded here like he did in MEM.

My order of preference:
1) Bryant w/ strong veteran assistants like Mike Brown
2) Dan Hurley with a mix of his guys and some vet NBA former coaches
3) Jason Kidd
4) Jenkins w/ a very strong staff
5) Cassell w/ an experienced staff

I like this list but I'm wondering - Why are folks so south on Bud? I think it's really just Phoenix that's a blemish on his resume. I guess he had a rough out in 2023 but was dealing with a lot at the time.
Otherwise, he overachieved in ATL and brought MIL the title.

Bud would probably be 8th or 9th on my list![]()
Why? He looks like a deer in headlights and, tbh, I don't want the leader of my team to look like he's already defeated before the game even starts

I am Surprised this thread isn’t talking about this more. It’s the first interview. If hired what do ya’ll think about him as a coach? I know he use to coach differently before the last season that got him fired. Was there common themes he could bring here? Is he a X and O guy or a personality mediator type?

We knew this already. Johnny Bryant was never going to be the Knicks head coach. Knicksfantv doesn’t have real sources.
