The Knicks didn't give up nothing, they gave up 3 picks, one of which is a 1st rounder. We don't know who will be where in 2016, so it's not a guaranteed pick in the 20s. You can't just give up picks and expect to win in the league. You need young guys on your team if you want to contend. Every contending team has at least two draft steals.

Melo is the PF of the future. Did the Knicks trade a 1st rounder to get some backup PF? Is a first rounder really necessarily for a backup PF, that may be backup to Amar'e too if he ever plays?

Also, watched some Bargs and remembered just why I hate him so much.

He is the epitome of soft. He camps the perimeter, scared to death of the paint. He sets half-assed picks. He fades on the picks. He has a soft weak mentality, where he doesn't respond to well to any criticism. He prefers to pull up for shots, than drive into the paint.

Lastly, he's a 7 fter with injury problems
. That's never a good combination in this league.

I guess you really hated him when he dropped 41 on The Knicks ( no that wasn't your imagination)

Your just like the haters in Toronto...they hate him and don't even know why. They talk of intangiables like he's weak mentally, doesn't care, stares at the sky, picks his nose.
He is not weak he has never backed down from anybody,he doesn't go through people he goes around them, weak people don't have good man to man d like he has.

He is on the perimiter because the coaches ask him to be there, because he's deadly from there.

His second injury was when he fell on his elbow trying to drive the paint something you said he doesn't do...something he is good at...take a look at his dunks,on youtube

He took criticism for his teams failure and never said anything for seven years and finally said something and was misquoted like that thing at the bottom of your posts.

He said in Italian that we...thats we, including himself..."we are practically the bottom of the leaque" which they were at that time.

 If he isn't soft, why doesn't he go into the paint and fight for rebounds?
If he isn't soft, why do all his picks seem weak?
Hell, if he isn't soft, why does he let ball handlers walk into the paint and score easily?

A few dunks isn't going to change that. Bargs is lazy and weak. He is the worst 7ft rebounder in history, and is a part of one of the worst defensive team in history.

As for the quote, he's admitting the team is horrible. However, once Bargs got injured, his team starting winning games and was even in contention for the 8th seed at one point.

That just shows he is a net negative on the court.

I don't really care if Bargs had a few good games. The NBA season is 82 games. There also is a postseason, which he has failed to perform well in. A few good games doesn't change what is mediocrity.

Also, I try not to hate any player. I don't hate Bargs. I just dislike his playstyle. I'll root for him to succeed, but I've hated how he played in Toronto.

This is true, but only partially. I think for him its more a motivation and physical issue.... i.e. the last two season he played through injuries, not only that, he played 40 mpg with his calf or elbow not fully healed. then he tends to shy away from physical contact. But when he is 100% fit, he won't shy away from anything or anybody...

as for motivation, when he knows that the season is basically over (and for the RAptors the season almost always was over like december/jan as they had basically no chance to get to playoffs) he tends to sort of quit. But I remember a game the Raptors played against Miami in Feb 2011 (the season after Bosh got traded)... He basically played alone against the Heat and almost won, to play against his former franchise player just gave him the kick he needs to perform well..

I think if he knows that he is with an organisation which has good chances to at least reach ECF, that will get him going and actually play like he can.

Please, he just had a few good games. That doesn't change how he has no motivation to grab rebounds or play help defense.

As for getting healthy, when you're 7ft and already have injury history, especially with a calf, it's not that easy. I doubt Bargs will make it to 60 games this year.

Sort of feel bad you're a Raptors fan and you can't keep your best players. Congrats on Bosh getting his 2nd ring.

Well...the fact it went 300 pages tells you all you need to know. Some like the deal and hope Bargnani regains his previous form and think he could become a good fit while others simply do not believe in Bargnani and are mad we gave up a first round pick.

Raptor fans are the worst though. They bash their own players more than we do. Players can't wait to leave Toronto ...just look at their stars from the past decade. All of them bolted when they had the chance....

At least they have a legit reason...their stars lead their teams to lotto picks, and admittedly dog it on purpose on the court.

But hey, we bash our team and players for having the best year in a decade....

It's funny cause it's true. All they do is dream about(or fap to) Andrew Wiggins who probably won't even be a Raptor.

If you know what basketball is why you do not understand that a player plays where his coach asks to play?

Did you ever play at any level basketball? Andrea played at top level when he ws asked to play in his PF role (althogh without having a real center in the roster).

He played with Bosh, and Jonas. Both guys showed to be proven solid rebounders when given the opportunity.

Jonas is a C, and Bargs played the 4 with him. That's not playing out of position. He still failed to rebound, so I dont know what you're trying to say.

I love Jonas but he is a rookie never playing at high level in his career, his stats in his first NBA season are: 9PPG and 6 RPG. Good stats but not so impressive. Bosh in your mind is a center? Andrea is not a center. Andrea played 6 years in the NBA without a real center in the roster and a single season (with double injuries to his elbow) with a rookie one. What are you speaking about?
